Default Tau color schemes

Hey, sorry for your time, but I need suggestions: what color should my leaders helmet/shoulder-thingy be? Im using my own color scheme, like an arctic infantry army, that uses tones of codex grey, and space wolves grey (or whatever it is, i forger but it's like blue), and a drybrush over it all with skull white. Ill TRY to put screenshots,
but dont blame me if i cant. Thanks for your time.

Do you mean shadow grey (the armour colour of Sa'Cea)?

The codex says that squad leader markings are done in the sept colour (eg Skull White for T'au, Fiery Orange for Sa'Cea). The Tau Empire codex tends to show team leaders helmet antenna and either the inner or outer segments of the shoulder armour done in the spet colour. So you need to decide whether your army is from your own sept or one of the established ones, if it is your own sept then you just need to choose a colour to use as the sept marking (I would choose something not to bright but that is distinguishable for the armour colours).

If you're looking for colors to compliment this scheme....

You could try going with a very dark gray on the uniform (non armour parts). You could start with black and highlight with Vallejo 807 Oxford Blue.

For a more artic look, start with a lighter grey and highlight with a Vallejo Wolf Grey (Game Color 47) mixed with white

For the Sept markings try using a very light grey.

Remember to choose a color scheme you like. Remember that the each sept has thousands of camo schemes. Remember that if the Ethereal wants the army's sept marking to be midnight purple, they are midnight purple.

Nice ideas guys, i might go with like that Fiery Orange, to get a contrast color for the blue, OR i might just go for the ideas that Long Island Gamer suggested, because they sound cool...

Thanks guys

well i like artic camo colours, the white and ice blue, dark blue contrasts really look grfeat. However I only know this from an Imperial Guard, it may look really good on a tau. although the idea behind fiery orange.

I like LIG's idea also, whichever you decide I am sure it will look great.
