Hey

I was just wondering if any of you have the new tau battle force box. Is it any good?
I think you get a devil fish,stealth suits,fire warriors,kroot and a battlesuit with it all for £50. I was thinking of getting one,and i was also thinking of buying the devilfish+firewarrior box set. Should I just buy a single set of firewarriors/a battle suit for a "test" or should i just go for the uber boxed set?

I say it would be a better deal that your previous battleforce. It comes with a vehicle for crying out loud!

But if by chance you have an old battleforce and you bought the new one as well you will have a decent core force. Also if yuou but a hammerhead, you can make the devilfish become a hammerhead too. _

I've been saying this on other boards: the Tau battleforce is probably the single best deal you'll get of all the battleforces at the moment, if you plan on playing mech or hybrid, that is. You get roughly 500 points of a pure mech force that actually works game-wise. If you want to play static, you can just field the Fire warriors on foot and MO a Hammerhead weapons sprue to convert the DF to a RH, and your done. It's the single best way to start Tau.

The DF + FW box is meh - you only get eight Fire warriors. That said, if you want to field teams of ten FW in a DF, that plus the battleforce will give you another mounted FW unit. In any case, definitely get the battleforce - it's really worth it, for once.

yea current battleforce saves a lot of money.

If you ever want to start a mech force, you already got one devilfish.

You get stealthsuits in there, 1 battlesuit kroot and firewarriors.
I loved it.

I still didnt paint the vehicle ( or any other thing from it though ) but Im like, if I ever need a vehicle or 2, I got 1 lying around.

Well, it is a great army contained in the box, perfect for adding to or starting a new army. And, in british money, the saving is:

Battleforce: £50

Separate: Crisis (I didn't think there was one, but ok) £10
Devilfish £18
Kroot £18
FW's £18
Stealths (approx) £15
Total: £79 by my count, therefore the massive saving of £29! Unless I am wrong, that is a total bargin!

Wel, FK there is a lone crisis in that battleforce. Poor thing, he have to sit in the battleforce all by himself.....

BUt compare the tradeoff of 2 crisis suits and 10 drones for a devilfish and a whole new stealth team, it's a good trade.

The old Tau Battleforce had:

-12 Fire Warriors
-12 Kroot
-10 Gun Drones
-3 Crisis Suits
-A bunch of plastic plants

The New Tau Battleforce have:

-1 Crisis Suit
-3 Stealth Suits
-1 Marker Drone
-12 Fire Warriors
-12 Kroot
-1 Devilfish
-6 Gun Drones

Not only does the new one give you more stuff, there are more variety of units.

The only thing is missing is a heavy support which I really wish they included, unless there's a way to convert a Devilfish to a Hammerhead that I don't know about.

Unlike the other battleforce boxes, like Chaos or Orks, you have a complete legal army just for £50.* You don't have to spend extra on a HQ unit.

I know it's already been said but I'm gonna reeitrate it.

The tau battleforce is a great deal. You get a 500 point army in one box. Just like that, 2 troops, HQ and an elite.

Definitley the best place to start.

Actual, you can have more. Soup up the suits/vehicles and you'relookig at 600+.
