Default Names Needed

I need names for My Devilfish/Hammerheads/Skyray

HH 2 - ?
HH 3 - ?
DF 1 - Dementia
DF 2 - Oblivion
DF 3 - Barcadi
DF 4 - Cola (?)
DF 5 - ?

I'd like to keep to cool words and whatnot, maybe some alcohols. Iono, I need help coming up with epic words that isn't Ancient or Overused. (Or in use by the Imperium, grrr)

Due don't give them English names. Just paint a bunch of Tau Symbols on them and use them for names. A guy at our last RTT showed up with a Tau army with English names written on it. He got laughed out the store and got flunked on his army painting etc. Why would Tau, who don't speak English write English names on their tanks?

My Tau vehicles are named with different Tau letters/words/phrases etc but they aren't written in English. It looks better painted wise and I have never had a guy ask me what the name of my vehicle is, that is more of an Human thing

Wow... you have a mean store.

I can come up with a number of reasons to have the names in english (AKA Low Gothic if you live in the Imperium). Say perhaps your troops have worked in close proximity to a gue'vesa unit, and the tanks were nicknamed by them? Or the Firewarriors could do it to make the tanks seem more fearsome- an error in translation would then explain why the tanks are all named for alcohols.

You can justify anything thats right. I was just giving one possible outcome. If you were so close to the Gue'vesa then why not run human auxillaries in the army but to run pure Tau and then stick human names on their vehicles seems a little...un Tau in my opinion but good luck with the naming thing.

deliverance - for a HH
exoneration - for another HH (both synonyms of absolution)

Honestly go to dictionary.com and look up a word in the thesaurus. If the fishes are names after brands of alcohol, then naming them shouldn't be hard...but I think it would be more funny if they were simply named after types, with may be an abbreviation of a brand in the front...The SM Vodka...

Why not give them names that fit the Tau lifestyle of working together for the greater good. You could call them co-operation, divergence, integration, reformation etc. If you really want Tau names. Tau are not blood thirsty murderers and in my mind painting things that humans would do is un Tau

I'd give them names that sound cool and at the same time simple enough that they could've been translated from Tau.
If you compare a word in english with the equivalent in another language, they often aren't "cool" in both languages.
The way I do it is think of a simple name in english, then since we're dealing with Tau, I compare the name in Japanese and/or Chinese.

Hence my two skimmers are called:

Devilfish: Red Sun
Hammerhead: Dead Sea

As a result, my names tend to sound like foreign martial arts movies...

It would be cool to run a single gue'vessa squad, say that were important to your Tau. They let them name their skimmers, the Tau have no idea what the names mean but they like them non-the-less. Hence why they are named after alcohol.

Hmm, I like the suggestions, and I'll probably take Deliverance and Exoneration, maybe . . . I still need names for my Devilfish . . I was thinking cool sounding choices and making my two compulsary DFs Barcardi & Cola because THEY GET THE JOB DONE, lol.
