Default Cityfight no longer for Tau??

I really like cityfight... and in the old CF codex there was a rule that pretty much balanced the power of Close combat armyes in this environment...
That rule doesn't allowed a unit to consolidate into Close combat...

This rule no longer exists!! How can we stop a Cloce Combat army now?
Now they can easly advance in cover and destroy our armies with 1 powerful HtH unit....

Do you think now CF in for close combat armies and no longer for us tau?

The strength shooty armies had in Cityfight was the fact they're in cover, and the massive number of attacks you could get (seriously, I was getting 50+ men in combat!).

Just rethink I've already thought of many ways to exploit the new rules. Rapelling lines, barricades, booby traps etc. are all going to be very useful for the Tau.

Is the Codex actually out now, or are these things on a site?

The codex is still unreleased: the date is 3/6/2006 (date from GW Uk, now).
But the rumours and reading-between-the-drying-lines are both very active...
GW staff may have helped a bit too.

Me, I wait 'til I have the book in my hands before planning anything at all.
...but it's fun to dream!

Just wait for the Cityfight book to come out. Rest assured, just as soon as people see the print, someone will figure a way to use the rules for the benefit of the Greater Good.

Most stores have a copy now. I'm not all that impressed with it....good additions, but nothing special. (theres literally 5 pages of rules and the rest is pictures etc).

Im not grumbling about cityfight at all. With sensor spines, SMS, piranhas with fusions, stealths... this is going to be fun mwahahahahaha.... ahem Im ok.

My cadre always did well in heavy terrain. It slowed down my enemy and forced them to split up as the varying speeds of units opened gaps in formations. Gaps I could easily drive into brutally. Against a skilled opponent this was more difficult but it wasnt bad. Jungle Fight and City Fight were always a lot of fun there were so many things Tau could do to have an easier time of it and we still can. SMS are just genious in heavy terrain as is being a skimmer and now being able to drive into terrain without danger with the sensor spines blocking assault with FoF will likely get only easier for a tiny bit more expence. Im looking forward to this.
