Default Another Noob Question

I keep reading different Tau strategy guides

and tactics and they keep saying use FW as a meatshield for the Broadsides for LoS

purposes.

Does this not also block the Broadsides LoS to the enemy? (Don&#039

;t have my rulebook at work with me to look up the LoS rules).

The rules(at least the ones I play) say that you

must target the unit in the front. So when the enemy fires they have to shoot your FWs.

Another rule says that you can fire over all your own units, except vehicles.
<br /

>So the answer to your question is no. You can see the enemy just fine over your FW.

I heard a rumor the LoS rule is changing in 4

th edition for the battlesuits and infantry. Anyone know if thats true?

Also,

I really like the idea of TL Plasma Rifles on my Crisis Suits, is there a better way than

spending $15 to get the extra Plasma Rifle?

That screening tricks apparently gone,

but oddly, i'm hearing theres another thing that will MAKE screening: you must shoot

the closest unit unless you pass an LD test...

very odd, just like all rumours

flying around just now. NONE can be confirmed, and i doubt LoS would change just for &#

039;battlesuits' as the only people who use these (or call them that) are Tau.

And afirad thers no better way to get an extra rifle than a second suit with

other weapons, other than swapping.

i read that any

model can be blocked if a model half its size is in front of it.. so a drone cant block a

battle suit... but it can block the FWs... and the firewarriors can blcok the battle

suits... you can fire over your troops unless its through a tank or CC like avor said....

and unfortunetly ypu cannot get it any other way.

The Rules are:

LOS can onlt be

blocked by models higher (bases don't count) than half the size of the model that

they are blocking. Accourding the the Tau FAQ Fire Warriors are more than halve the

hight of a Broard side. (As I understand it) The XV88's (Broard sides) are

only blocked by fire warriors it the targeting model cannot draw a line through the Fire

Warriors without touching a Fire Warrior base.

A friendly unit dosn't

block the LOS of a friendly unit, no matter what the size.

Combat (HTH)

blocks the LOS of every thing, except for models that are over half the hight of the

combatents
