Default Tau Balistic Skill Vs others

H everyone. I just wanted to share a thought with you all. It seems to me that the Tau's Ballistic Skill level as desribed in Fluff articles is not acuratley represented in their status. My thinking is that an army that is completley Shooting based would over time get quite good at it. As apposed to an IG recruit who is shipped off staight after basic training to the nearest battle. I think the GW Dev's should raise the price point by 1 and the BS by 1 to 4 of FW.

Here we go again...

Bs 0 = Physically unable to shoot, or so bloody stupid it wouldn't know a gun if you rammed into the rectum and fired.
Example: Genestealer.

Bs 1 = Has opposable thumbs. Doesn't know how they work.
Example: A chimp.

Bs 2 = Untrained, or horrendously incompitent.
Example: Whiteshield (newly recruited Guardsman), Ork.

Bs 3 = Battle-hardened, well drilled, or naturally gifted.
Example: Guard, Tau, Tyranid Warrior.

Bs 4 = Super-soldier. Trained above and beyond all reasonable levels. The Elite, the exceptional, the masters of ranged warfare.
Example: Marine, Stormtrooper, Shas'El.

Bs 5 = Stupidly good. Usually reserved for really, really good characters.
Example: Exarchs, Marine Commanders, etc.

I just think that the tau, training in their battle dome all day would get get as good as this. Providing that this is the only thing they train for.

Imperial Guard train for months while travelling to their world, and they train for years before they actually become Guard... yet they are Bs 3.

Tau are no better. If anything, their longer reaction time would make them worse shots than the Guard, so any benefit they get from training is removed by physical ineptitude.

In any case Tau wipe the battle field with IG.

Every battle I've had vs Tau says otherwise...

Maybe you are just playing against bad Tau players.

Or maybe Wargamer is an Experienced Imperial Guard Player, who knows the ins and outs of his and his opponents armies, and can therefore make good tactical decisions there by defeating his opponent.

Its not the army that brings home the win, its the Commander behind the army.

Thank you. I just use the same logic as in paintball. Its not the paintball marker that does the work, its the player behind the marker. If you can't hit your target, a $1000 marker is not going to do it for you.
