Default Twin Linked Flamers?

Ok, unless I'm missing something, what's the point in twin-linking flamers on the crisis suits?

rules wise i guess that makes sense, but it would be way cooler fluff wise if you could use two templates, and you could even put them on different units/squads!

:P

Taht would be 2 seperate flamers, and the "put on 2 separate units" is far overpowered. I only know 1 modle that can shoot 2 units, and that's Shadow-sun. Anyway, Twin-linking is not very fluffy or realistc for anyweapon. Like the LR really has 4 lascannons, but rules-wise only 2 accurate ones.

Rev_Enge: Have to disagree with you, as there's no-where that says Twin Linked flamers re-roll to wound. Specific units have that rule, such as the Immolater, but in the Tau Code, all it states is that it's twin linked, with no explanation as to what it does.

As for Twin Linking in the rulebook (page 30, BfMC), it says it gets the benefit of re-rolling to hit, not to wound.

So while it may be assumed that twin linked flamers re-roll to wound, where is it stated?

Oh it's true, you re-roll to wound...whether you want to get that close with your crisis suits is up to you. Because in order to really use the flamer to full effect you need to be right ontop of the enemy unit; and you will get assaulted next turn (but to each his own).

Redbishop is absolutely correct in regard to this. This thread has been covered multiple times. Look under "Twin linked template weapons" section in the weapon rules of the BBB. It IS covered, and covered in depth, dead, 6 feet under, let it die. No ammount of arguing will bring it back to life.

Dear god please lock this thread.

Then my error would be in not checking the Template weapon section, instead only looking at the twin linked section.

My thanks for pointing it out.

As for getting close, three crisis suits with flamers, jumping up and shooting, then launching an assault...of course, having the squad leader with the *BadaBOOM* wargear in case you have to fall back...

My question is resolved, thank you. Would some kind Mod please lock the thread.

Taking oshova with his body guard of 7, all twinlinked flamers. There would be nothng left over for sure. as for 3 crisis battlesuits much could end up the same way. Choose your targets wisely.
