Default New Stealth's-2 of 6 or 3 of 4-which setup is better?

The army list I'm working on only has room for 12 XV-25's and 3 FB's (all have targeting arrays)

My plan is to use all steaths togthether as 1 element in conjucntion with future pirahnas I will buy (squadron of three).
While the skimmers zoom up one flank to take heat off me railguns and provide entertainment watching my opponent struggle to not soil his briches at the sight of 3 fusion blasters right in his face ;D, my steath's will run up the other side at a slower pace shredding enemy troops as they go. With any luck, the poor unfortunate on the other side of the table with fail to recognize the threat until my XV-25's are in striking position of any armor he/she has left.

My questions are:
A) would two big (6) squads be better or three smaller (4) ones, all will be working together to achieves the same goals.
B) is Targeting array the best support option for this plan, or would other gear be more effective?

hmmm, very good question. i think 4 smaller groups because you can attack from all sides. but if you are in one big unit, you have to face the opposing units one...by..one....by...one!
would you agree?

The 4-4-4 is a popular stealth config as it helps with the metagame. Opponents definitely see a unit of 6 stealth as a threat - a unit of 4 is not always enough to trigger their "KILL IT NOW!" impulse. And you'll have the same number of stealths anyway! So go ahead and fool them. =p

I've had a similar quarry when playing mine IE 1 X 3 plus 1X4 (plus 2 gun drones with each) or a large squad of 6 plus 2 drones?

It really has depended on the game, although I'm not one who should be giving tacticale advice because I always seem to get hammered. Saying that the my XV 15 are always amongst the last survivors.

Getting back to the point I would usually play three squads if I were in your position. I would also bulk it up with drones..... saves losing a burst cannon.

Just a thought.

Three of four is my preferred choice. Three die to force below 50%,by that time you only have one left. The only reason I would take the two groups of six is to make room for some plasma toting crisis suits.

Three four man units are much more viable with markerlights than two 6 men units. After sustaining a casualty from a plasma gun out of a 4 man unit, I still shot as well as a 6 man unit with two markerlight hits (9/9 hit).

Also, I don't think the fusion blaster is such a great weapon for the stealths. The 18" range of burst cannons allows you to dance around the enemies and have a high chance of them failing their nightfighting checks if you're around 20"-22". The 12" range of the fusion blaster doesn't nearly as well, as the average roll is 18"-24". (6 to 8 on 2d6 x3= 18"-24")

Also... 40 point Stealthsuits? That's as many points as a Terminator for 1 more hit on average. Of course, with fusion blasters this is much more viable.

Good call shasoshane. That had not even occurred to me, but I'm sure all can probably tell by the number of embarrassing posts I make with rule mistakes in them.

kill it now is a good thing...let them focus all there fire on my stealths an snipers, they have a good save, not to mention stealth field...opponents will rarely get to hit my snipers an only hit my stealths about 50% of the time if that

Go with three groups of four, more shots from different places, and if you have to do a drastic move with one squad it will only be a squad of 4, and you'd have two more just like it to back them up.
