Default Looking for modding your own marker drones thread.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I swear to god that there was a thread on here the other week about how to mod a drone into a marker drone. Saddle I can't find it so...

1. does anyone know where I can find this thread. I have searched for it but with no joy.
2. Give me some suggestions about what to use and how to do it as this is my first mod.

Sorry again for rehashing the same fluff, but I really would like to start work on them asap.

PS I got the new codex this morning!!!!!!!!!

Unassembled Gun Drone
Big Antenae, maybe from Devilfish or something. (To follow Codex), or something that looks like markerlight

1. Put the Carbines away.
2. Drill a hole into the side of the Target Lock.
3. Glue the Gundrone's antennae onto where it is normally.
4. Drill a hole into the side of a markerlight thingy. (I found one from my bitz box, it was formerly part of the waveserpent kit, but looks more like a searchlight)
5. Glue the Target Lock, and Markerlight thingy, onto where the carbines would be on a Gun Drone.
6. File down the bottom of the Multi Tracker so it fits into the other slot on top of the Drone.

voila! Marker Drone finished.

I found the head of a crisis suit worked well.

File off the right-head side antenna attachment point from the crisis suit head.

Cut off the dome on the bottom of the head (where the head would normally meet the torso) so it's flat, glue that side onto a Drone where the pulse carbine would go. Give it a long while to dry - use true plastic-on-plastic glue as this does the best job.

On the other side of the drone where the other pulse carbine would go, clip off the carbine attachment rod, and mount the long antenna from the crisis suit's head.

Glue on the normal antenna on the left side of the crisis suit head and tweak it a bit so it points in the right direction (straight forward).

This gives you something modestly resembling the actual Markerlight drone, with a couple antennas. The real trick is using sufficient glue (more is better) and letting it set over night so the acidity of the glue truly bonds the parts together strong. Mine worked well, and even after my cats got ahold of it (darn cats!) as a toy.

Proudly banned from both Mech Tau Tactica and Advanced Tau Tactica by Kai'Lore. Kai'Lore has no honor and the fact that my mere presence reminds him of this is more than his cowardly person can bear. He banned me from the new site after less than a day. =)

Thanks for the help, and sorry about the rehashed thread.
