Default Sources of Tau Information.

Guys,

I am trying to get as much fluff on the Tau as possible so that I can theme my Tau to be as close as possible to a Tau society.

I have noticed that there is a book that GW sells - Imperial Armour Volume 3 - The Taros Campaign – and was wondering if anybody has had the fortune of reading this book. I can’t really afford to pay out £55 for a book if it has very little Tau society behaviour/characteristic information.

Any other sources of Tau information would be greatly appreciated.

Xenology is a good book it will give you more info about the background and tau philosopy and an interesting look at their biology... I think a good while ago there was a book which had a mention of meeting the tau but can't for the life of me remember the name!

On the subject of Xenology... it makes mention of a Tau autopsy, where the Magos Biologis is covered in "blue liquids".

The Cyan Blood theory lives on! ;D

I'm just past half-way through the IA3...its got a lot of information about the Taros Campaign and some information about Tau tactics in that war but I would say little on Tau society, behaviour or character. The book is very specific to the Taros engagement so far but if that changes drastically in the last chapter, I'll post again to let you know.

good things to know are that you cannot make your own sept as Septs are collections of important worlds and systems- and that all of them have been established- however you could create your own world.
additionally here are some worlds not stated in the Codex

Vir’la
- Kel’tyr, Fio’Vash capital
-Arkunasha- near arthas moloch
-Pra’yen, in Dal’yth system
-Viss’el, just outside of the gulf
-Sy’l’kell- purged, neighbore of Viss’el`
Y’leth- birthplace of the Fireknife config- one of the most illustrios events in tau military history- in the Gar’nyth system- assumed to be south as near Ultramarines
Kra’sylth- attacked by ‘nids- south
Kel’sman- raided by Dark eldar, maybe near Perdus?
Raan- space dock, south
Fal’ryn Run’eor- first sighting of the Y’he

there is a list of nearby human worlds if you want that.

Err, where does it say that all septs have been established?

Sept does not mean world- it means major world or a series of important systems, the Septs have already been established- but their worlds have not. To add more septs is like adding more Earths or EoT's comparatively- they're already there.
the word for world is ya

I think I will go with Xenology to start off.

I want to thank Calmsword for the additional worlds he posted.

I hope that whilst reading the IA3 Omen will find information on the Tau society.

Thanks again all.
