Not exactly sure which planet your asking for so...
He originally came from Vior'La.
He became famous in the Arkunasha War, for fighting the orks.
Other then that, GW seems to be hinting that ol'Farsight is under the influence of good old Khorne >, and if reports are to be believed, Farsight has lived longer then most Tau, to the point that he must be prolonging his life one way or another, if it is truly him.

O, I just noticed your name, very nice :.

No they arn't. Everything about O'Shovah shows him having a more realistic, dare i say it less fanboyish view of the galaxy that the Tau. His experiences and role as a general have brought him to respect his enemies, chaos included.

Respect does not equate to "blood for the blood god!" no more than ultramarines playing cards with Tyranids.

O'shovah likes red and close combat, and him plus bodyguard makes 8.

Sorry, but that sounds like a burgeoning Khornate to me.

I wonder why the Tau don't just sneak some ethereals into the enclaves to bring them back into the fold.

fluf!

Farsight, also now as Shas'O Vior'la Shovah Kaius Mont'yr or O'Shovah, is a Tau Fire Caste commander from the Vior'la sept. He was highly respected as a commander during the aftermath of the Damocles Crusade led by the Imperium of Man, where he won fame fighting Orks. Unlike most other Tau, Farsight believes that close combat is a vital part of warfare, possibly because of his ongoing battles against Orks. After Farsight's Ethereal was killed during the reclaiming of Tau planets, he came upon the Dawn Blade (a large artifact sword found on Arthas-Moloch, a dead world). Farsight is said to still be leading the Farsight enclave (a group of faithful Fire Warriors), though this would make him more than 300 years old, far longer than the average life expectancy of a Tau. It has been speculated that the Dawn Blade is of daemonic origin, while others believe that it is a C'tan artifact.

Not everyone who favors up close and personal combat and wears red is a khornate worshiper.

Farsight comes from Vior'la hence his colors and takes the traits of that sept to heart which include a very agressive style of action and a tendancy towards more close range combat. While reclaiming Tau worlds after the Damocles Crusade he encountered probing ork forces and went to fight them. During the fighting all of his accompanying etherials died in battle. Following this he found the Dawn Blade and continued to follow the orks far out into the Damocles Gulf where he established numerous defencive fortresses to protect the Empire. All acounts put him as still being loyal to the Empire and continuing to serve the greater good as he see's it however the Etherials believe him to have turned his back on the empire.

Nothing about Farsight directly states anything about chaos taint and there is little that hints at it aswell. Given the appearance of the Dawn Blade (if that can be trusted given GW...) then it does not look like a chaos artifact, not even close. It does appear to possibly be C'tan in origin but one cannot tell. It is entirely possible that it is neither and from something else entirely.

For those who havent read it yet some new fluff for Farsight was recently put on the GW site:

Theres also the quote, from the new codex, where he makes reference to how the chaos gods don't join together for the betterment of each, so why should he. Or something to that effect. I don't particularly like the direction GW is taking Farsight, but put all together those are pretty strong hints that he may be corrupted, to a small degree.

Farsight no doubt realizes chaos are a galactic power, and do so without focusing on the same goal.

From his own experience.....without an ethereal, going against orders he has managed to push the boundries of the Tau Empire further than ever before. If the greater good is the ultimate truth, then obviously his actions are evident that he still works for it in his own eyes.

He respects Chaos, as an enemy who achieve much without needed to continuely work in unison, just like he does.

Nothing to do with being a follower of Khorne.
