Default GW stole "FoF"!!

I just received my latest subscription copy of WD, and had almost finished the battle report (NEW tau I might add, but where not allowed to talk about them until the 23 of March :P) when I read what Adam Troke had said in the battle Summary:

" I cant really fault the way he used his force. He unleashed the 'Fish of Fury' tactic to great effect, and kept that squad in the game by covering them with their tank while they rallied...".

Have you ever heard anyone outside these forums talking about FoF?? I sure haven't, but maybe I don't get out enough.
By the way the Aus WD is absolutely PACKED with new tau stuff and looks like it will be for the next few months ;D Hooray!!

FoF was actually not even invented on these boards - IIRC, it comes to us from Mech Tau Tactica. It's almost a universal term.

I just read the batrep.. In the intro bit that Andy wrote - it mentions that he's had some chats with existing Tau Players - from whom I would assume he got FoF from.

I've picked up a lot of errors in the army lists throughout the WD issue.. some illegal units here and there (like the sample army list with vespids but no strain leader..) and also, I wondered about the DE list - do 6 Incubi really cost 6 points in total? And by my calculations, the HQ section costs 267 points, not 175. I really have no idea about the lists GW produce..

[mace], as an older tau player than me ( and WD reader i suposse) you should be quite used to the fact that Gw uses the most ilegal armies arround

Like the Ultramarines termie only army that floated arround some days ago

And, did Andy gave any credit to the mechatau or something?

I don't believe he did so...not with a URL anyway. I am disappointed

The notoriety of creating that expression, though, is pretty awesome though :P

Their army list was awful though...but that battle report is anything but the worst one lately.

No, he didn't mention it, but Shas'El_Tael did a good job if indirectly advertising it via his Eastern-Empire army coverage a few issues ago. I'd like to see Marcelo play in a BatRep though - for those who are following OZ's Raw Hobby series of articles.

Yeah, I tried direct links but the best I could do was sending folks via Eastern Empire.com and hoping theywould check my links section to come here and to Mech Tau

I think there is some legal issue they have to follow unfortunately with regard to external links and mentioning things. Bit of a grey area I think.

If you mean the one with Calgar and termies vs the Necrons, that was a non-standard FOC mission.

FoF is an almost universal tactic.

i donīt know where the guys at GW that make the reports learned to play ( i think itīs a kind of house rules- iīll explain later).

they love to play with odd squads, wacky equipment and are always trying to convince us that thoses crappy units that no one actually plays are great...

the Tacticas they edit should most of the time be called how not to play (army name).

itīs the GW policy: ok we are out of fresh ideas and have quite a large number of useless units in stock so weīll make our staff play with them in battle reports to see if people are dumb enough to actually buy them.
