Default Battle: City Fight

Ah, Much feared by Tau, much loved by Nids.
However, why to we Tau fear the City. I mean JSJ works better here than any where else, Flamers shine, EMP grenades, and we can ignore most terrian because our tanks are skimmers!

In City fight, I would suggest useing all Carbines because it is useful to be able to move out of charge range and still deliver quite the punch.

EMP's are a must for Anti-Tank.

Flamers are gods in City fight, but we Tau now get TL Flamers, O0 what more do you want?

Photons can save your bum in an assault

Well, there is my rant on how Tau DO not suck in City fight, are actually quite good.

I play marines and can verify that JSJ is murder in dense terrain.

I play against marines alot and can justify JSJ in city fight. It shoots them, and run away, with out fear of getting shot at or assaulted.

Let me esplain:
JSJ is jump shoot jump. The tau stealth and crisis suits can jump from behind terrain shoot and jump back in the assault phase, leaving my marines nothing to shoot back at. JSJ tactics have destroyed my marines in close quarters when terrain is abundant. Tau can be wicked in a city fight.
Not to mention good hard cover can make fire warriors a little more resilient than normal.

We recently got a city board at our local GW from another store. People would smile at me and talk about how frightening it must be for me to play there.

Nobody wants to play me on that table anymore. It's just slaughter after slaughter after massacre.

J is for Jumping from behind terrain that blocks line of sight in the movement phase.

S is for shoot at the target in the shooting phase.

The second J is for Jump back to the other side of the terrain, thus putting your suits out of line of sight, in the assault phase.

The other great thing about dense urban terrain is that a mechanized force is almost completely uneffected by it. We can maintain almost complete control over the fire lanes, and Devilfish can be used to completely block off streets in a more robust version of the FoF.
