Default Need help with visual ID on Tau equipment

I am trying to find a visual reference to all the Tau weapons/upgrades/equipment. Since the 40K rules state that a fielded army must have any items in use represented by the model(s) using them.

For example, I know this photo has a Seeker Missile and...???

Left to right is: Seeker missile, Take your pick*, Sensor spines

*usually target lock and/or multitracker

I always thought the one in the middle was just a communications antenna.

Thank you for the response, but how do you know what is what? Yes, the missile is obvious, but GW seems to be lacking in the support of some of their products. The "Tau Construction Booklet" that comes with the models does not tell you everything; even the Codex is a little vague.

Sorry to be a pain, but I just want my army to be as accurate as possible. You know, so I can take them out in public... ;D

Exactly my point. If GW wanted to make the rule of proper "model representation", you would think there would be a better visual source for all the available wargear.

Usually the fin is a multitracker. I was told the little bits of optics near the targeting array is the target lock.

Yeah, I had this question too. I said almost exactly the same thing you did in your second post. Prophaniti is right.

Personally I don't put any of them on. There's no reason to use sensor spines (either version), the multitracker/target lock/whatever breaks off at the drop of a hat, and my seeker configs are constantly changing.

I was thinking of magnetizing them, but my setup time is already quite long enough. My opponents don't mind. I don't know how tournaments would take it, but...

BTW forge world makes bits for fletchette dischargers and decoy launchers, so it's neither of those.

I'm pretty sure everything on/near the targetting array is part of the targetting array.

My take:

Left: Seeker Missile

Center: Ubiquitous Tau antenna... everything has one, usually over right ear (My tanks has its by right equipment pit (top/back)

Right: Sensor Spines, While I've never mounted it, Id make it a mohawk arrangement, just to be sure my opponent sees it. :P

For Crisis Suit weapons an equipment, see the flash animation on this page:
http://uk.games-workshop.com/tau/battlesuits/1/

(just click on one of the tau words on the left, and a picture will come up)

For vehicles - the singular spine is just that, a spine. I don't think it actually represents anything. The one with three spines - would be the sensor spines. The seeker missile is pretty obvious, and the piece that goes in the front of a hammerhead tank is the targetting array. Aside from those, any other upgrades don't have respective models, and so don't need to be included for WYSIWYG (note: Forgeworld does actually make and sell extra bits for Decoy Launchers and Flechette Dischargers [link])

Thanks for the help, everyone.

I had already found the Crisis Suit link a while back; good thing too, my suits went unassembled for about a month since I did not know what weapon was what.
