You know like corkscrews/flips? I couldn't find any evidence ether way. Of course its extremely unlikely that these maneuvers would be used in a live combat situation, but still.

i like to think they do, but i think that somersaulting a full blown out battle tank is reserved for eldar.

I believe Tau skimmers can have some finesse movements, but definitely not as much as Eldar. Corkscrews I believe can be done with an experienced pilot, but flips I highly doubt it.

I'd imagine corkscrews and flips wouldn't be possible since its a skimmer. The grav plates are what keep it off the ground and the grav plates point down. If the grav plates point up they're no longer pushing off the ground and the skimmer will start to fall. Might be possible at very high altitudes for really good pilots actually...
However both the devil fish and hammerhead are quite capable of pulling a "Crazy Ivan" due to the way the engines are mounted. If you're not a firefly fan please ignore the above sentence.

well, assuming that the pilot can turn one engine up and one engine down, then corkscrews would be easy... assuming this.
Not really Tau style though. The Greater good seems more like a "steady as we go" appraoch instead of a "mad rush-go crazy!" so im sure they're not exactly up for super huge manouevers. Also, you'd probably end up with an irate Shas'ui telling you that 'there's 11 Firewarrriors back here with concussions and bruises', and he wants to know why :P

I think a desperate Fire Warrior pilot would do whatever he can to keep his craft active...even if that meant swivelling around in a crazy way. I doubt they're anywhere near as quick as an Eldar ship nor, to be honest, their crews quite as well-trained or skilled. The Eldar use advanced evasion techniques at all level...which I imagine the Tau do as well, just...not to such superb levels with the limitations of their craft. They're too chunky to do it if nothing else to me by the look of them :-\
And yes, even Dark Angel Ravenwing get a 'Jink' save...but hey...that's because they're Space Marines and we can't have no damn stinking space elves having something better than them though eh :-\

I have spent most of my life riding helos to and from missions. These birds can fly nearly upside down. My wife can't understand why rollercoasters don't thrill me...well I've riden on blackhawks in real world evasive manuvers at 200 kn flying nap of the earth. Nothing compares.
As for Tau vehicles, knowing what I do about helo pilots, if the pilot can make it do something he will. So yes, obviously ![]() Wanax |

I'd say Devilfish and Devifish based tanks could pull sharp-ish turns if they had to. However, they don't look like a particularly maneuverable tank by design. Unless they have very strong attitude adjusters hidden somewhere. |
