Default About decoy launchers.

Now, time and time again I read on these boards that the Decoy Launcher is great to have on a 'Fish. Now, I read what the upgrade does and it doesn't seem too impressive to me, I want to know what makes it so great. ???

Well when u move more then 6 inch with your fish, it'll only have glancing hits. With a decoy launcher u can re-roll the immobilised roll.
(if I'm correct all the time, there's no limit, or doesn't say in the book)

This means that your fish has more chance of surviving a hit, there was some topic with the odds of surviving IIRC. And it's quite good, maybe do a search or wait until someone who saves those links reads this post
This handy thing has saved my fish a few times, but don't expect it to do miracles. There's always the chance that he roll a 6 whit only one dice.
(Happened to me in my last 2 battles)

I'm currently in a local campaign and I'll now see if it's really worth it ;D

Here's the link to the topic I was referring to ...
Hope it helps

According to the mech. tau bible, the multi-tracker is points efficient on any vehicle over 49 points. The piranha is 50 points.

Thought someone should point that out. :P

Replace the 49 with a 45, and replace the 50 with a 60, and your post will be correct.

but the the piranha is a fast vehicle.... it shoots like one so it doesn't need a multi-tracker.. doesn't it?

there is a rule in the main rule book which says that you cant re-roll a re-roll

its good becasuse if you move over 6" and you roll an imoblisation the skimmer is destoryed and you cant roll a worse reslot
