They are quite effective, since the targetted unit is denied a cover save, and is hit on a 2+ by one unit. Im going to use them with my fusionflamer crisis suits, instead of twinlinking their weapons. And maybe together with a hammerhead, if the target is important enough.

An interesting strategy for marker lights.

Get a large number of Human Auxillaries, give each unit of them a marker light, move to 12'' rance... rapid fire, shockingly this tore an entire 10 Marine Tactical Squad to ribbons in one turn, I wasn't ready for those puny little gaurdsmen-tau to do that much damage and... they did.

Marker lights are great except that the whole squad has to fire at the markerlighted unit...i think

Well, i find the best use of a marklight is to be used in conjunstion with weapons with multiple shots, i.e. burst cannon, or SMS. And the fact that they negate cover saves is great, I almost got off an sub-munition round off on some guardman in cover with a marklight, but i got a bad roll of the dice .

As I understand it, the markerlight ignores cover, not the weapon it is supporting.

However, I could be mistaken...

Wait, explain how a marker lighter works again, the model using it needs to hit the target with a ranged attack, correct?

Yes. If you score a hit, then one model may benefit from that Markerlight.

Really, it seemed to me that the entire squad that was connected with that model benefited from it?

The ruling is if you're marked with a markerlight then NO cover save when your shot with the weapon that is hitting with a 2+ because they know exactly where you are
