Default New Idea for a Commander Config

Would this be good for a Shas'O Configuaration?

Fusion Blaster
Plasma Rifle
*Thing that gives Hit and Run USR*
Hard-Wired Multi-Tracker

Expensive, but can jump in and out of combat to blow holes with 3 low AP high strength stuff and then charge again. Give him some Bodyguards with the same configuration and he'll kick some booty.

which codex are you talking about new or old one because im not sure what peice of equipment your talking aout

I guess the "thing that lets you hit and Run USR" is part of the new dex. Since the old one has no USR things in it.

I would exchange the plasma rifle with the cyclonic ion blaster if thats what your going to do. I cant remember if there was a new ruling but I dont think battlesuits can charge after firing the plasma rifle. So you might want to stick to assault weapons. For the bodyguards missil pods might work as an alternate weapon.

Oh oops I keep forgetting that you cannot assault after you use Rapid Fire weapons. Either replace the Plasma Rifle with that Cyclonic Ion Blaster, a Missile Pod, or that other gun they can get (forgot).

The second new command gun is the air burst cannon if I remember correctly. That might work too though the cyclonic ion blaster might work better beside the fusion blaster with the possibility of being ap 1.

You CAN charge after you use rapid fire weapons, with a crisis suit anyway. The same reason that you can jump and fire full range - they are well stabilized. NOT the advanced stabilization system, that is something different.

The air-burster scatters, so you probably shouldn't fire it at something you're in range to charge.

The Wargear item you're referring to is called "Vectored Thrusters". The obvious question is, why don't you just avoid assault in the first place? With your assault move, it's not difficult to jump into 12" range, and then jump back outside of assault range.

There are some cases where assault is unavoidable. A Shas'O with that could easily charge into combat with some drones, kill a few of the enemy and jump back out again while the drones keep the enemy locked.

i was searching wether anyone had said anything about the elusive cyclonic ion blaster, but found nothing on the forum.

I have seen it on the pictures, but what do we think it might be?

Is it some kind of short ion cannon? cause it has three holes, so I am thinking heavy 3, S7 AP 3 and something of 12", like a miniature ion cannon.

Or am I way off base? and why cyclonic anyway?
