Default Proxy vespid models?

Is their any kind of conversion that you can think of using if you dont like the new vespid models?

Maybe tyranid gargoyles (lose proxy).

As for a conversion, my advice would be to just try to file/green stuff the offending areas on the vespid models (probably the stinger and face, it looks like they are on happy pilzors..).

I intend to purchase the flechette guns and xv15 jetpack as bitz in the number needed for squads of vespid, and then converting squads of firewarriors as the appropriate troop.
It isn't that I dislike the vespid models (altho I do) it's more that I have a hard time painting organics. (I have no open helmed Firewarriors, and no Ethereals either.)

I also was thinking about a proxy for the Vespid . If the Vespid turn out to be a good use of points I'll use Necromunda Y'eld (sp?) spyrer hunters . Maybe a bit expensive :'( but I like the modles ;D

I personally don't see what everyone dislikes about their faces, I mean the are bug people. I don't however, like the Tauish helmets with the spike type thing on either side. I like the overall look of the Vespids. I would consider replacing some parts with Tyranid gargoyles, but no major re-hashing.

I plan on using the Mechwarrior Goshawk for my Gue'vesa army alternative. I will probably swap the legs out for something smaller and find a different (larger, possibly rotary style) gun, but I want to find out the basic statistics of the gun before I modify it.

I wish the pic showed the back, because the jet pack on the back looks awesome. The fun thing about the shoulders is that those pads on there can 'flip up'. 8)

Nope, not getting over it,. Don't like bugs, and I can't paint organic models. I so would love to do Tyranid as an alternate army, but I can't paint gaunt or 'stealer's such that they look good.

It's not that people don't like bug models (although some people do.)

They are just ugly. Look at their stupid grins. They look like they were made by a 4 year old.

At least, that is the criticism. I don't particularly care.
