I collect Tau and Black Templars. I let my friend verse me with my black templars and my (well his at the time) close combat terminators advanced on my crisis battlesuit (with fusion blaster) and i looked up my codex and couldn't find the part where it said it was a melta.

Don´t have the codex, but I think it´s page 17 or page 18, where they describe the weapons. Also, I think it is in the reference sheet found later in the book too.

It is in the footnotes to the Battlesuit Weapons table on page 17.

why did you need to look it up when they were shooting at terminators?

the weapon summary tables in each codex are always handy, photocopying them can be useful too. the Tau one is on p32

also, look at the weapon description under Battlesuit Weapons on p17

The codex was written before the melta rule. Instead, it says to roll 2D6 at 6".

except it says "melta" for the fusion blaster stats under the "notes" column on p17...
