Tau Tactics. in the eyes of many, it equals shooting, and thats it. But what nifty

tricks do you know with tau?

seriosly, not something i'd reccommend...first up, marines are

every bit as good as kroot in an assault, and stealth teams can be easily dealt with...

i'm all for trying to make the tau as mobile as possible, as they

aren't as shooty as goard, so should try and make use of the extra movement modes

thay've been allowed...get some squads in devilfish, pelnty of suits, and bounce

about the board, ideally with only like half you firewarriors being stationary

the faster

armies can out manouver tau easilly but then they cant doo much to them once the manouver

is outed, because they dont have as effective firepower as tau, where as the more fire

heavy armies IG or my "alternate" ultramarine list(maxed squads, lots of heavy

wepons) will maybe not be able to shoot as effectivly, because of the skimmers rules or

because you have the battle suits out of LOS and/or rapid fire range

If an opponent can

out menuver you then you pack asmany firewarriors as you can, backed up by a few Xv8&#

039;s and XV88's and start killing as they get within range.

i say watch out for ork speedfreaks, and nids, and if its my necron styled army...Speed

freaks are VERY VERY FAST and once in combat you can't shake orks with tau, not even

kroot are gonna save squads. Nids had a tendancy to swarm over terrian likes its flat

ground, and with lots of necron destroyers and teleporting immortals you can make

critical strikes against your units while avoiding alot of damage.

Options?

1. Speed freaks - knock out transports. Just be careful cause they'll be

there but turn 2 even been careful and foloowing the terrian. Stealthsuits are great

cause they can infiltrate and weapons are strong enough to take out a trukk. However also

be careful knocking out "key" transports. 10 orks with some burnas and power

claws are just as deadly as the warboss and his nobz. Imagine everything as a threat,

even if its just because getting into combat sucks for tau

2. Nids...

concentrated fire. Opposite to speed freaks, annilate genestealers and warriors and use

kroot to hold and delay gaunts - gaunts hurt tau, but can also be killed by kroot and

tau. Warriors won't be. However at the same note be careful bout gaunts getting into

combat and holding you up while bigger things get there.

3. Necrons - use

speed to dump 10 fire warriors next to destroyers, knock em all down they won't be

back. Concentreated fire to knock down warriors to get phase out. The army i designed

packs a massive punch, buit can only take a certain amount back before a crumble

That's my two cents...yes not much about tau, but then again i don't know

that much. All i know is that moblity is important for any army, and i think tau need it

alot as well as shooting your targets with craft and care
