Default Grenade Launcher on Pulse Carbine

I was flipping threw the codex a few days ago when I came across the pulse carbine fluff. It says it allows an "underslung photon grenade launcher". I was wondering does this give you photon grenades for free (so you don't need to purchase them for x pionts) or does this represent the pinning effect caused by pulse carbines?

It just represents the pinning and the low range. If only normal Photons worked like Pulse Carbine Photons. :

Yeah, the photon grenade launcher just causes pinning - doesn't give them grenades in an assault.

ooh yea! if ONLY Pulse carbines had a Heavy1 alternate fire mode of Str - AP- blast, pinning! Rng 18"

that would be overpowered... but hey! if WW1 tech IG can lob grenades, why cant firewarriors?

because the Frags that IG grenade launchers fire are less powerful than a Carbine shot, and the Kraks would be freakishly overpowered...

And Carbines in Inquisitor are seriously deadly... not sure about the "Single" firemode for an assault weapon, but photons blowing up everywhere... eep!

Hehe, Those were more like plasma-ish incendiary grenades rather than photons..

But as stated, in the tabletop game, the grenade launcher on the carbine only represents the pinning effect (the shorter range is more or less due to it being a carbine, not a rifle)
