what tau army do you use in a general battle?

i thin a tau fast force is always welcome.

i use crisis suits and devilfishes and drones (if this is not mech, i'm not too sure what a mech army is)

Hybrid tau, closer to mech. We don't have to much terrain at my store, so a full mech army wouldn't work well.

Yeah i currently run a hybrid army. About half of the FWs are in fishes some crisis, stealth, a commander, couple broadsides, couple railheads, ethereal and a few points for a "flavour of the month" unit, which could be human auxiliaries, drones or whatever

I really don't know what you mean by specializd elites, but I do tend to fill my elite slots first so I chose that option.

Mech deffinetly. My opponents get headaches trying to down all my tanks. I am what you would call a tread head.... exept my tanks float...

I'm about to start trying hybrid. With 4 unmounted squads of Firewarriors as fire support and the rest of the army mobile. Two full Stealth squads, 2 Hammerheads and some Crisis suits and Gun Drones.

Hybrid for me. That is almost everyones's strategy in my store.

I run a pair of Hammerheads and 2 or 3 Crisis Teams (I'm thinking of replacing my Stealth Team with a Death Rain Crisis Suit Team). I also have 2 of the XV-84 (one from Forge World and the other is a converted model). If I'm being cheap, I'll use the 'El's XV-84 (MP/SG/TA/ML w/ HW Multi-Tracker) for 110 pts. The 'O's XV-84 runs about 150 pts and has MP/PR/SG/ML w/ HW Multi-Tracker. The Markerlight on XV-84 will give me at least one Markerlight hit each round.
