Default Powerplant of a Battlesuit.

What kind of powerplant is used to power up a battlesuit?

I'm thinking nuclear-hidrogen engine.

Seeing the advanced technical aspects of the tau, most likely a miniature cold fusion reactor. Nothing like an infinite power supply to support your army.

Actually, battlesuits are equipped with multiple trained hamsters running in little wheels...

It's probably that round part on the back of the crisis suit between the jets. I'm thinking mini fusion reactor.

Its hamsters man. I knew this one hamster who was used as a power supply for a gun once. He didn't like it so he retired, but he has lots of storys. His name is fasfurus, another corny attempt to sound cool. Just call him furry.

So if the suit gets knocked over, the hamsters get disoriented and start running backwards and uncharge the system... bad idea, but fun for the sake of pointing your plasma at a downed Marine and saying "Dude, you're Humanities finest and you got pwned by hamsters..."

Seriously:
Fusion Reactor - hard to compress into a space that small, isn't it? And potentially very volatile - not to mention the danger of a radiation (let alone coolant!) leak to the pilot.

Plasma Reactor - Hard to theorize on; we don't have them yet.

Photisynthetic Cells - interesting to have an effectively infinate power supply, but the potential for damaging such a fragile system is huge.

Rechargable or Replacable battery - seems the most Tauesque option, but for extended ops. it would become liable - a small recharge genorator would be a must, which would take up even more precious space.

Any kind of nuclear power is unlikely in a Tau suit. Bear in mind that your average Tau is tiny.. four feet? The battlesuits, at my estimate, stand MAYBE 11 feet high. When you factor in all the electronics, ablative armor and weapons systems the suit has to carry (not to mention the pilot), that's not much room left for any kind of reactor.

My bet is on some kind of rechargable cell. That would also follow the trend of the power cell in the pulse rifle, and the backpack that fire warriors have to recharge it.
