Default Idea for Tau Modeling

I was looking at the Dwarf range and saw that a Dwarf Warrior box can also allow make Longbeards, and Thunderers can make Rangers. Why not incorporate this into 40k? A Fire Warrior box could also make Pathfinders. A Kroot Carnivore could also make a Shaper. A Devilfish could also make a Hammerhead or Skyray. A Crisis Battlesuit could also make a Broadside Battlesuit. This would make the game much cheaper and enjoyable. If they can do it with Fantasy, why not with 40k?

Like this pathfinders might be cheaper but FW wont. Skyrays and HH will be cheap, devilfish wont :P

Devilfish I can see, but how would FW be more expensive? They would be the exact same as they are now, except have some bits to make PF. You get 4 leftover FW, but you could use that to compensate the Devilfish and FW box that comes with only 8 FW.

I can see it working. But we need specific bits from the hammerhead set to put teh gun on. might not work. But if you buy the bits for the broadside and get a crisis suit it's... $40. The only thing we can do it for is pathfinders, and shapers. Oh well, we try and fail. GW deliberatley puts bits high so we can't do it.

EDIT: I'm eating my words. If you want twin plasma and none of those wierd things on the back, it's $30 plus shipping. Kind of not worth it but hey, plus you get two drones* ;D

I think a Firewarriors/Pathfinders box is a great idea! I've always wanted plastic Pathfinders. All they would have to do is take the Firewarrior box and add more carbines and some markerlights.

there's nothing to stop anyone using plastic FW as PF as long as you model a markerlight on them.

Saw of the photon grenade launcher on the bottom of the carbine, and stick it on the top. That's how I'd do it.
