Alright, as stated above, the armies

with 100% win percentages represents me as yet to loose to these races. 70-80% Represents

a win ration of 8 games out of 10. Anything below 50% represents me loosing 1/4 of

the time. Speed freak orks give me the greatest hassel of all the other armies in

40k. My friend used death kopptas or a mechboy attached to a unit in a battlewagen

in order to gain the hulldown effect on his trucks all the time. With the new evil

sunz rules, he can have mechboyz in each truck. On top of that, the kustom force

field allows hulldown to any vehicle within 6inch of the vehicle that contains the

mechboy. Every vehicle has armour plates , which negates any hits on it on a roll

of a 6 (which surprisingly happens more then you would think.) All his vehicles are

upgraded with grot riggers (mobilizes the truck on a roll of a 4+ at the BEGINNING of the

ork turn). Sure, Tau infantry weapons could glance them ( no pens cause of KFF),

but with all the amount of shots ur going to miss combined with the amount of shots which

will fail to penetrate with him negating any shots that get through on a 6+, its really

difficult. Even if immobilized results are scored, his grot riggers would re-

mobilize the vehicle next turn. At the start of the battle, his trucks are well

screened behind terrain or his battle wagen etc. If I get first turn I usually

won't be able to achieve LOS. If he gets first turn, all his trucks would move

up 24"inchs. Meaning, he's already at my battlelines. Blood angels

are capable of assaulting on the very first turn with their rhinos over charged engines

etc. Death company also is a pain to deal with. When 4th Edition comes out,

these armies will be shut down and Tau will be able to get back up there more so then

now. I think I wrote MORE then enough at the moment. If you have any

questions, concerns or wish to see my 1000pt/1500pt/1700pt/2000pt Tau army list, please

E-mail me or post in this thread requesting it! Thanx alot. I'll try and help

anyway I can.

Tau Vs Sisters of battle - 500 points

well as you should know, sisters of battle have just been released (at least i think

they have) and i had a chance to play a small game against a 500 point army... loosing

obviously due to my noobiness, but nonetheless i learnt some stuff

basically,

i was going against a squad with heavy weapons, mainly heavy bolters, which can shoot 6

" more than the average tau fire warrior. this meant i was getting shot at without a

chance of shooting back, and if i tried, i would end up loosing a lot of range trying to

move them up to get in range for a turn.

so, the moral of this story is, stay

out of sight or range of heavy weapon squads of sisters of battle, and, if you manage

that, shoot at the squads of sisters before they get into assualt range, and dont move

either, so you have the full range as well as an option to rapid fire when they get too

close

My stratagy in general

In general, sit

back and shoot while utalizing the mobility of the Battle suits to take out key units or

possitions.

Tau vs

Space/Chaos Marines- If you up against Rhinos

use the same stratagy you use on the speed freaks. The marines are a balanced force so

keep onyour toes for everything. If they pull out a tank, hero or dreagnaught just

introduce him to a rail gun

Eldar- I dont play eldar that offten so I cant say

much about them.

Dark Eldar- The average Dark Eldar army is a melee army, just

pack plenty of weapons that force pinning tests. If they use a hero just take a Fusion

blaster or rail gun to him.

Necrons- Take out the destroyers, They can KO you

suits on a single hit. You might want to pack the Meson sniper or some gun drones because

they force a pinning test. If you can halt them their easy enough to keep down. If they

use a hero just take a Fusion blaster or rail gun to him.
Their average solder is

not bad, but they can easly beat the tau in melee

Space Orks- If their normal

orcs just blast em before they get up close. If they use speed freaks they move 24'

with open trucks. When the trucks get in range let your FW unload. On average you can

kill the trucks, because the FW have a str of 5 vs the front armor of 11. A six to glace

and a 5 to destroy because it's open topped. After that the little orcs will be in

the center of the field with no real support. They try to move in closer but you can

blast them.

IG- The IG uses a load of tanks. The best stratagy is two

words, R-A-I-L G-U-N-S. Use the rail guns to give the tanks new windows. If they use the

griffen or other artilery type units you will take heavy loses but hopefuly you would

have taken out a few tanks by now. While this long range fire fight is going move some of

your battle suits with fusion blasters and Plasma rifles. If you roll average you would

have taken out the heavy tanks and your Battle suitswill have good odds of taking out the

artilery now that their at a closer range.

Tau- Tau vs Tau is gay, Both teams

just sit back and shoot. Its boring and stupid. If your forced to play a Tau vs Tau just

hope you have more long range units and good roles

hmm alrite, to fill in on eldar (while using

tau),

fire warriors sit back and shoot at guardians, try keep fire warriors

out of range or the heavy weapn squads things that i dont know the name of, use

stealthsuits to jump back and forth to shoot at the heavy squad things,
reason:

stealthsuits range is short - 18", they can jump in and out of range 6", avg

night fight roll is 21", they can attack from 24"... if the heavy squad things

shoot at you, theres a pretty good chance they wont see you, and waste a turn trying to

shoot at you, if they dont shoot at you, (say u have a squad of 5), they get 15 shots

coming at them.. when they can see you though.. hope u get a good armour save roll.<br /

>
battlesuits jump around in and out of cover to pick off other targets (heh i shot

an avatar once... fluke..) and railguns to kill tanks.. as for the.. elite cc troop

things, (which i also dont know the name of), kill them with rail guns as fast as

possible, rapid fire pulse rifles if they get too close.. most likely they will unload

right next to you, so kill tank transport and kill them at range..

I think you were refering to the Howling

Banshees or were they Striking Scorpions (Scrops are usually green, Banshees, white/bone

coloured and wield power weapons).

Thats prob. that

Exarch your talking about, with executioner. They can be nasty verses Tau Battlesuits (S5

power weapons!) Anyways, Banshees aren't that much to worry about (I'm assuming

Battlesuits have T5/6) and with the Banshees Strength, they wound on 6+ anyways.

Scorpions Wound on 5/6+ and have close combat weapons so your save is not negated unless

the Exarch has a Scorpions claw (power fist in other words, so your in trouble there).

Anyways, the only real thing I fear in the Tau army are Broadsides and Hammerheads with

those rail guns. My Guardian units are nearly always protected by conceal (5+ Cover save)

so your firepower of the Fire Warriors aren't as effective.

i think it was banshees, yeh it was, they

unloaded right next to my fire warriors, they wouldve carved thru both squads were it not

for the tyranids i was allied to.. strangely.. basically, dont let them near your troops,

so take out their transport fast and then follow it up with some shots from ur fire

warriors..

watch out for hawks.. they landed next to my stealthsuits.. that

wasnt that bad.. you cant really help it when they deepstrike, only thing you can do is

shoot them first chance you got, otherwise countercharge some kroot or something if you

have them.

Heres a question, how would go about

dealing with Rangers? obvious answers are rail guns, but suppose that you didn't

have any in the first place (newbie armies for example) or had any left (battle

casualties in this instance)?
