you dont get into close combat with them.

shoot their rhinos. deny their movement. focus fire. a single hammerhead with a submunition and 2 burst cannons will do a lot of damage to them, and chances are, they'll do nothing back...

as for terminators: plasma rifles, or else mass firepower. make them roll enough saves, they'll start rolling ones.....

But fire warriors are not sure shots, and most of the time they will hit 50% of the targets then you roll to wound then they get their armour save
so all in all not many shall die :-\

1. Don't swear.* Read the forum rules.* Or you might get smited.

2.* If you expect 90% of your shots to hit, 90% to wound, and never to allow a save, try playing a video game instead.* 40k isn't for you.

i've wiped out squads of marines with the shooting of a single railhead before. and that is with all their armour saves allowed! throw in an ion cannon and you are getting lots of fried lumps that were once the emperors x-finest!

like Deadnight said. Use the weight of fire power, Keep shooting and shooting, the armour save will fail eventaully, this is true for all power armoured foes ( armies like Necrons, Space marines and Choas Space marines), etc.. Mech Tau may be the best coruse of action, to avoid CC but it's risky. Play smart, What I mean by that, Make him play on your terms, not his.

Bonne chance.

Ahem, let me quote a usefull mantra:

"Make a marine roll enough armor saves and he will eventually fail."

That is all you need to know, shoot them again and again and again. Even though not many shots will hit and wound and then he still gets his saves a terminator is going to quake when hit with 50+ shots, even just pulse rifles. Throw in a couple railguns, some plasma rifles and perhaps a fusion blaster and even a full terminator squad is likely to be vaporized. We have 30" range guns, that also happen to be rapid fire so at close range their number of shots doubles. Make use of it. We can pour out a shocking amount of firepower and best of all we can do it where and when we want thanks to the exelent mobility of our army. Railgun submunition those berserkers, fire pulse rifles at them from long range and let burst cannons or SMS on tanks have at them close up. Concentrate your fire on them and they will die, then move on.

Helios crisis are probably your best bet, but they need to be rather close to the termies to be extra effective, and if the termies have anything fast nearby, well, oops. :-\

Plasma rifles, fusion blasters, and to a lesser extent railguns all work. So do squads of stealth teams and some prayers to the dice gods. ;D
