Default Female Tau

Hi, I'm just wondering out of criousity after reading the Tau Codex, when in the language part, it has Aun la or Aun Vre, and it will say King or Prince. This has lead me to the question that since there are female fire warriors, are there female Ethereals? Post your thoughts or any answers or theorys.

of course there are female etherials. unlike dwarves, they do not grow out of stone!

the term "prince", and "king" are merely the human rank. the tau ranks seem to be unisex.

None can step before them, they are the first, proud in their strength and jealous of their renown. Through the storms of the warp they come, upon the very tides of terror, but of such dangers they are uncaring. They are the Space Wolves, the Undefeated, the bane of the Emperor's foes."

Perhaps Tau do not differentiate between genders. Eldar do not, hence the role of "Young King" can be filled by a male or female.

That's different. Banshees are only female by tradition. There is no "rule" that says Banshees are female, and indeed there are male Banshees, it's just they are usually female.

Actually in a White dwarf a couple months ago it had a female ethereal converted out of a Tau air caste from forge world. Looked decent enough as I recall.

Tau are a completely different species from humans, and as a result, I wouldn't be surprised if females were expected to work just as hard and at the same tasks as the males, and vice versa. In fw, there are female fw's in combat, and a female por.

You, probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a male or female tau anyway. You probably have a lot in your own army. All of them have the same braided hair side ponytail thing and I don't think they have breasts. You're thinking to much like a human. They don't even have relationships the same way we do, they have collective marriages when they are bonded.

There's a great piece of fluff from way back when the Tau first came out, with a female Por'ui war correspondant running after firewarriors while her camera man runs along behind her and gets shot, burned and hit by shrapnel.
