Methinks you need to read your rulebook.

Rules for embarking, disembarking and transporting are all in there.

Devilfish has a Normal speed.

experience really is the key here...

"OK. my fire warriors are mounted up in the devilfish". sorted. you move your fish in a similar motion to moving a hammerhead, or a fire warrior. it moves 12" a turn. in a direction you want it to go, and to a place you desire it to go to. nothing really complicated there. you do it for as many turns as you need.

beyond that, its target priority. movement to get the best shots possible, and to concentrate your firepower where it can do most damage.....

find someone who can sit down with you at a table with some models and walk you through the process. Doesn't even have to be a 40k player. Just someone who reads the rules and understands them. I could probably read a mageknight rulebook and explain it to someone else, and I'm not even sure what mageknight is (I think that silly game with the clicky bases on the models, which are big and prepainted, right?)

Hmmm. A few years ago, I do believe that you could explain the naunces of MK. Now, however, with artifacts, spells, and domains (curses unto domains) it takes a good 30-something page FAQ to play (with any army). MK, thankfully, has bombed, with the last release already, well, released. This was mostly due to very few mechanics being introduced (as in, none for a good 2 and a half years) then three sets containing vast changes (surging, changes in key abilities eg. charge and bound (move and shoot/attack) which nerfed the 'rabidly popular' Amazon Draconum, spells (with a whole new figure type), Domains, Constructable Terrain, Artifacts (another new figure type), cavalry that could get off the mounts (which you actually didn't want because their 'to hit' number got reduced by about 30%), and limited edition figures apearing in the boosters (vastly reducing tournament participation to a grand total of 1).

Yes, I was a Level 1 Warlord.

I have a whole bunch of MK and MK Dungeons stuff..

Back on topic - as Wargamer pointed out, it's all in the rulebook. The things you seem to be confused about are basic rules of 40k, not really specific to Mech Tau. If you need to, as march10k said, find someone who knows the rules to explain it to you - GW staff can do that pretty well..

If you don't actually have a rulebook, at least try borrow one or go to GW and get them to teach you the basics of playing. The BFM set is a good starter..
