Default Instant kills

Deleted, messy, spelling and effort needed work, etc. Instant kills do exist. Double toughness causes instant death.

Your friends are trying to pull one over on you, basically their lying so that that don't have to instantly lose models.

This instant kill rule does exist, i make frequent use of it.

its on Pg. 27 of the rulebook. You can't miss it!

It goes like this;

If the strength of the weapon is double or more than the toughness of the model being hit, AND that model fails it's armor save, that model loses all of it's wounds and is killed outright. However, let's say that a terminator is hit by a missile (str 8 ap3) the terminator is wounded, then gets to make a save. Just because the str is 2X more, doesn't mean the model doesn't get a save. (that was back in 3rd edition) If a space marine commander was unlucky enough to get wounded by a missile launcher, it would pierce his armor and he would promptly be removed.

Please note that this is Double Toughnes Instant Death. There are other forms of Instant Death, but you shouldn't need to worry about them just yet...

No, no, no. No auto wounds.

Say you are using a Battlesuite with T 4 is in cover and it gets hit by a D-Cannon that is str 10 ap 2. If the suite fails the cover save or an invulnerable save from say a shield gennerator it is dead, poof. Even if it had not been wounded and still had 2 wounds it would just die. This isnt like getting shot with a bullet, this is a mighty beam of energy or explosive death, its just going to kill the target outright if the armor does not protect them.

The use of this you ask? Space Marine Captains, Tau Shas'O and any other model with around T 4 or 5 and lots of wounds can be taken down by one really big shot.

Oops, sorry, you always roll to wound, minimum 2+, you can never auto wound. :-\

Basically, do everything normally until it comes to the number of wounds the model loses (all of them)
