Default FW new Broadside suit

XV-88 v2

Well, that new model makes me undecided now about making a Mech Tau army of not! ??? It's quite an impressive one!

Enjoy!

My old broadside conversion

I did almost the exact same thing! I guess great minds think alike!

I am getting one, I think. I really like the ammo feeds and power plant.

while it is cool and all.... i never liked it when people put the railguns on the arms... and now theres a model for it.. lol.
first off it would be to front heavy.. (unless railguns are made of a superlight material which is entirely possible nullifying what i just said.. lol) and it just looks wrong to me... but oh well. just me.

From what I can tell from the pictures, each Railgun actually has two points of contact. The arm holding it, and swivel braces that connect to the base of the generator. The weight would be distributed over the Broadside's center of gravity. It might even be more stable than the original, especially for recoil. The original Broadside would have a force acting on it well above its vertical center of mass, making it likely to fall over without heavy bracing. This version would take all of that force much lower, with less resulting rotation.

I must admit, I've seen lots of variant forms of the new battlesuit, with all the rumours flying and links to sites. Some have really scared me looking horrific. This one I must say looks fantastic, the smoother head looks much beter than the old ones (slighty microwave look) and the underslung guns look very impressive.

Is this the definate new model GW will put into production?

I didn't like railguns on arms because it would be really off balance, and it lacks support etc in order to aim it.. however this one introduces rear braces/supports, so its pretty feasible etc, the ammo feed are nice touches to it.

No, its just FWs. Whether GW decide to copy it later on depends on how well they sell (seeing as some other FW models have been 'stolen&#39.

Really want to see some of the painted ones now as they will no doubt show off the fully posable nature of them.
Anyone know what you have to do to get the ammo feed to bend the right way - heat it in boiling water, or hot water or what?

its kind of aggrivating yet satisfying to see work that I've done and a number of other people have done- be recognized and then "forshadowed" "used" "copied" or whatever by such a company like Forgeworld. Its like during the EoT campaign when we started talking about "3rd wave/phase colonies" and then see them talked about officially in White Dwarf- just goes to show that gamers still have an effect.
