Do you think the Kroot are popular enough to get some new models? They're used in the Tau army, can be used in any other army that isn't Imperial, and have their own Codex in Chapter Approved 2003.
So why is there only 1 box of plastics, 1 Krootox, the Kroot Hounds, and the shaper metal. Oh, I forgot. They even have a Special Character from Games Day 2001. Why not a new box? Why not varied units without 7,000 years of conversion? Despite all of the above, are they really just not popular enough to get some other models?

We are getting new kroot birds in the codex, but I think GW cares more about their cover-boys than Kroot Mercenaries and think it would cost too much to make an entire line of Kroot models that can already be converted.

They don't get their own unique models for the same reason that Lost And The Dammed, Harlies and the like don't get their own models.
