Default Gue'vesa's or Firewarriors ?

I just bought myself another box of Firewarriors but I'm not sure what I should do :-\

To explain this I'll give some info on how I want my army to be ;D

I'm going Broadside heavy and lots of Crisis, as this will cost me major point I'm trying to keep my Troop and Fast Attack as small as possible. Altough I already have enough Troop (FW and Kroot), I don't want to be a powergamer and will have 3 troop choices.
Now my problem exists that Gue'vesa's are much cheaper then FW and it fits the fluff I wrote (I took a planet in the Damocles Gulf). But Gue'vesa's are much weaker then FW, any tips on what I should choose?

Also I already have: (painted, as I never play with unpainted models)
- My Shas'o (no I won't take an El 8))
- 2 Crisis (Fireknife and TL missile + Burst ... Deathrain?)
- 11 FW
- 11 Kroot
- 1 DF
- 2 Broadsides

I'm going to buy some extra Crisis and Broadsides after this until I get about 1500 or 1750 points.
This army will be diffrent to most army's in 3 (main) points:
- There will be no HH (ok maybe one, but it'll have an Ioncannon)
- No stealth's
- No Fast Attack

No pathfinders?(!)

No stealths?(!!!)

NO HAMMERHEAD!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!!?!?!?? !?!

Your making your army weak... every army needs something to hit a tank's sides, then switch to Pie Plating infantry...

Take the FW's. Take as many as you can... cheap little bundles of firepower.

Like I said, maybe one HH, no pathfinders and no stealth's.

I'm not going for the most popular army or the best army, I'm making my army :P

I know HH are great but I don't want to use them just because I like Broadsides more and u can get more ;D (9 to 3)
I'm not going for the Pathfinders as I'm not using seekers and most units have enough hitting power on their own. (Most of my configs have re-rolls)
And why no stealth's? ... That's harder, I have some, played with them and they did good, maybe I'll include them on rare occasions >

And an army isn't weak because it doesn't have a HH. Why doe so many think that? I played some games with my 2 Broadsides and they shot enough tanks. Remember, they only need to take down one tank to kill MORE then u paid for 1 Broadside, so 2 or 3 tanks and u have a great profit (in points ).

With your set up, I would do at least another 6 firewarriors (and maybe have one squad of 8 and one of 9) and then do a small squad of Gue'Vesa and load'em up with EMP.

Its just that you might do better with one Railhead... they do everything well, and are highly survivable. They also are fire magnets, allowing your other units to live longer. You can get [glow=red,2,300]drunk[/glow] on Rail Guns, 9 of those Broadsides can kill 7 Marines witht he Railgun shot alone... LOL!!!

So...
You like broadsides
but wouldn't touch pathfinders?
:-X :-X :-X

PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY! THEY GO TOGETHER LIKE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY!

Think about it; hitting on a 2+... with a re-roll. Just imagine it. *droooool*

Anyway, guev'esa are good meatshields. Put them in front of your broadsides to take the lascannon hits when your enemy fails his ld test now and again. Or run them up the battlefield with EMP grenades and go tank hunting. Either way, they're a good choice.

Even though you already shyed away from this: I say make those Firewarriors into pathfinders...just don't glue on the big sholder pad, then shave off the little shoulder pad, then glue on the Carbine. Voila! That's all I did! Simple conversion, eh?

You forget the 2nd reason why pathfinders are great. Not only do they allow weapons to hit on 2+ but they do not allow cover saves. Its great if your gun gets through armor save but sometimes a 4+ cover save shrugs off the fact that your weapon is AP1.

No pathfinders, stealths or HH isnt a problem. Really it isnt.

If your going static I would suggest 2 units of Firewarriors and a unit of gue'vesa, add the kroot in if you like. That gives you a good solid none power gaming, varied firebase. Give the gue'vesa markerlights as they are very cheap and you can use them in conjunction with your battlesuits missil pods to ping light armor from a distance. Upgrade your kroot and bond your firewarriors, it may coste a little more but it will give you a fluffy and stubborn firebase around which your suits can pivot, your broadsides can sit behind and your army can anchor itself.

Guy's remember, he's not making this army like everyone else's.
If he dosn't want pathfinders or hh's, then don't force it on him!
