Default Devilfish - making them hinged and seeker missles.

I wanted to make the side hatches hinged on my devilfish, but im not entirely sure how to go about doing it. I dont think that I can drill a small enough hole through the existing hinge. Any ideas, I know this has been done before.

Also, where do you all mount your seeker missles. I cant figure a spot that looks good.

You should be able to drill out the hinge if you are careful & use a fine drill bit & pin drill but it will take a steady hand and a bit of Patience.

Welcome to both of you to Tau Online :d

Shas'el Tael just posted this up in the conversion board, it should help greatly with regards to pinning (theres some other modifications detailed there too)

http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=12487.0

As for seeker missiles, its been discussed a lot before, you can find the threads through a forum search, but where I put them - you see the grooves/air vent things right behind where the drones mount? it should fit snugly into there (once painted)

There are other ways to mount them, e.g. using really small magnets

Infact, found the thread, see this > http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=10111.0

Nice, thanks very much for pointing this out. I have looked at the Tau online conversions (the main website) but did not think to look for conversions in the forums. Thanks.

Regarding Seekers... Why only include 1 stinking Seeker with every Hammerhead Box?!!!

Because they are horribly expensive bits of kit? Or to lure you to looking at FW Tau and thus entrap your soul.

Don't normally use them, though I have sky rays that I occasionally give to my Pathfinders as Devilfish with a full seeker rack (if the tank has to hang around with them it may as well make itself useful and pretend to be artillery)

Seeker missiles are to expensive to be worth the trouble if you ask me, but if you want them anyways on either side of the Little hatch at the top is where id put it. Or at the back next to the door so they shoot up and then home in on the target from above.

I dunno if I was the only one crazy enough to try it, but has anyone made the round hatch on the rear access ramp open? It's picky, but worth the effort! The "floor" piece that you glue on separately locks the door in place when you close it!!!

I've done it. Looks much better that way.

It does! I can't wait to paint that DF. I detailed the interior, too. No digi, or you would've seen it in conversions by now.
