Shas'O

Ok this was a battle to test out my new Hammerhead and my brothers new waveserpent and his wraith guard. The army lists were as follows:
Tau: Shas'O, FB, PR, SG, HW MT Shas'Vre, BC, MP, MT x12 Firewarriors, ui, bonded x10 Firewarriors, ui, bonded, photon grenades, x2 carbines, Devilfish APC, MT, DL, TA Hammerhead, Railgun, burst cannons, MT, and other stuffs. Eldar: Farseer, Fortune, Guide, Mind War, Spirit Stone, Runes of Witnessing Warlock, conceal x5 Wraithguard, waveserpent, Bright Lance, Crystal targeting, spirit. x6 Guardian Defenders x6 Guardian Defenders x5 Dark Reapers, Exarch, Fast Shot The board was a long narrow table set up in my room. It had two buildings, one in the upper left the other in the lower right corner, 2 fortified wreckes, one large one in the center, another in the upper right. and a pile of rubble in the lower left and a small graveyard in the lower center. Deployment had my footslogging Firewarriors in the building on the upper left as that was my deploy edge, the Hammerhead went behind that building, the DF sat behind the rubble, the Shas'vre was off to the right of the building and my Shas'O was in the building below my Firewarriors. The Farseer was at the back center of the Eldar line the wave serpent right in front of him. The reapers were in the building in the lower right and one guardian squad was in the upper right wreckage the other was behind it. The warlock was of course attatched to the dark reapers. Turn 1: Tau- Somehow I got it, yay. Ok so the first thing I did was zoom my Devilfish forward, it turned its side to the graveyard and unloaded my squad into the terrain. My Shas'O and Shas'Vre bounded forward. Everyone shot into the reapers and they got pinned by the carbines in the Irregulars squad... oh thats the mounted one. Hammerhead zoomed forward and fired its bursts and submunition into the guardians killing 6 of them, 5 in the forward squad, 1 in the rear squad. The single man broke. Eldar Broken Guardian flees, silver squad stays put. Farseer casts fortune and guide on the wraithguard, reapers pinned. Wave Serpent Rushes forward firing on but undamaging my devilfish but unloads the Wraithguard right in front of my Hammerhead. They down it spectacularly. Silver guardians fleet of foot forward. Turn 2: Tau Well the Irregulars finish off the Reapers, the devilfish torches 3 of the remaining guardians, everyone else shoots into the wraithguard, not a one falls. Shas'O fails to wound on snake eyes. I hate it when that happens, grr. Eldar The Wave Serpent now takes out my Devilfish, the 2 remaining guardians continue forward, without something to do the Farseer castes his powers on himself and kinda lols around. Wraithguard down the Shas'Vre. Turn 3: Tau Shas'O takes down 2 wraithguard, firewarriors take another one. Eldar Wraithguard fire on drones but fail to wound then charge, kill one drone, other drone gets cought, they consolidate into Shas'O. Turn 4: Tau Irregulars mount a charge on the Wraithguard. Other Firewarriors shoot down last 2 guardians. In close combat one wraithguard dies. Eldar Wave serpent moves and fires on static firewarrior squad, kills one. Last Wraithguard dies in close combat, warlock killed aswell, no damage to the Tau. Static Firewarriors fire on farseer, remove one wound. Turn 5: Tau Shas'O takes down waveserpent, firewarriors move forward. Eldar Farseer rushes forward all alone. Turn 6: Tau Shas'O jumps out and fires on Farseer who saves the wounds. The shas'ui of the Irregulars squad fires on Farseer, rolls a 4 and 5 to hit, a 5 and 6 to wound, farseer rolls a 2 and 3 on save, farseer dies. Crazzy shas'ui needs an Eldar head to decorate his base with... hmm. Eldar... umm, no Eldar left... oops Results I lost 4 troops and both tanks, considering that 22 of my 24 soldiers survived thats not bad, the tanks were all expected to go down, looking at the pile of debris that blocked the farseers final charge it was rather sad. Still Im happy with the results. I was shocked at how few troops my brother put on the field, that one wraithguard squad with the warlock and transport was easily 370 points. All in all this was a good victory for the Tau, I was very happy I was able to eliminate those dark reapers so fast. I am very glad I have those carbines in my mobile squad now. They do come in very handy sometimes. Questions, comments, tactical suggestions? |
