So over the amount of games I have played so far I am very happy with both the XV8 Crisis and XV9 Hazard, but it is getting difficult for me to see which one is better because they both fill extremely good rolls and have what seem like appropriate points costs. In your experience which is better and if you had only one choice which one would you take?

The Hazards are priced for the Tau in 5th edition. This means that generally they are a little overpriced and underwhelming. For the points of just one burstcannon hazard suit you can almost get 2 burstcannon crisis suits. That's only 10 points more for 1 less toughness, but twice the wounds, the same average damage, and a higher max damage.
This remains the same across pretty much all the weapon types. At the time, they were unique and did things the Tau really needed... but now we can pretty much cover what they do better or for less using other units. Hazards are sexy models though! |
