Default Fluff questions- N'dras Sept

Hi all, I am on a fluff quest trying to find out more about the enigmatic N'dras sept. Now there is obviously very little details in both the old and new codex regarding the sept besides that the earth caste were getting some strange readings when they first settled and it has since been abandoned on the orders of the ethereals. Those that remain are seen as brooding and trustworthy. Now I've done a little digging and on the German version of lexicanum there is a little more detail. Apparently although the sept world is abandoned there are 3 orbiting moons that still retain cadres. They are also known for their black badge. Apparently it was left after a long period of a couple of centuries so whatever the reason it wasn't a sudden occurrence. For me this almost totally rules out the common theory of a necron tombworld uprising. According to a French version Q-15 is an artifact world discovered by the Earth caste stellar cartographers of the N'Dras sept many years ago. There are no existing archives which detail the discoveries they made, and the Tau of the N'Dras sept remain unwilling to speak of what was brought back from there. Now I am wondering if anyone has any more details? Also what are the current theories regarding the abandonment of the settlement?

It's probably deliberately vague in order to fill in the gaps.

However, who knows what may have happened? Chaos outbreak, Necrons uprising, old Imperial tech, something worse?

Well the last thing that I found about them bringing something back from an artifact world would suggest a chaos connection although if a full blown outbreak were the case then I would assume that the populace wouldn't have been allowed to voluntarily leave. Also if that were the case then there wouldn't still be a standing military presence upon the moons. Maybe they brought something to the planet that since has returned to life and the cadres based upon the moons are there to prevent it from leaving? But you're probably right about it being classic GW vagueness... I was just interested to see other's theories.

it could have been some tyranid spores or something, and the residents could have been able to hold them off for a long time, then they adapted. military left to prevent from leaving. well, my opinion anyway.

more or less. doesn't mean they cant overwhelm and change the planet for the very much worse. the fluff of the farsight supplement also sheds some light on the tau-chaos relationship
