Unhappy kroot and their place in the 6th ed codex

ok, so kroot are better in this edition, their cheaper, can take sniper rounds, have armor (barely, but last edition you had to have a shaper AND pay for it) and now hounds have acute senses and krootox dont stop you from infiltrating or outflanking, but am i the only one who misses our close combat comrades? last edition they werent as useful, granted, but i thought they were really fun to use, now they kind of are, but its not the same, so what say you, other tau players? do you miss old kroot to, or am i just crazy?

Currently, I rarely leave home without 'em. Having a squad of 10 snipers for 70 points is ridicoulous, and they are a troop choice, so just plop em on an objective in the back, or in some cover and you're golden.

theyre really good now, i like outflanking an entire kroot squad (save the shaper, i dont see the point) because you can annilate pretty much anything except av13+ and flyers

never cared for the way they looked with the rest of army, I feel the same about most of the auxiliaries

yeah they really dont match any tau look, unless you go all kroot and ethereal. but you should try a 10 man squad with snipers against heavies (T6+)
