Default Competitions on Demand - February

That's right, you heard correctly- CoD makes a much anticipated comeback for the second month of the new Contest season.

A quick summary of what Competitions on Demand entails:

A week before the beginning of the month, a poll will go up (this one!) with four options. Each option is a potential competition; the winning one will be held the next month along with the two fixed contests. Every member of the forum may cast one vote each, and every vote counts- so pick wisely!

Remember, you should be voting for the competition you would like to enter yourself - not the one you want to see other people enter! Otherwise, we only get a few entries, which isn't as fun.

We've got some beauties lined up for you this time - I, personally, wouldn't be disappointed seeing any of these run in February.
The competition that wins will run alongside the two other contests:

"New Boyz On Da Rokk" - Open New Ork Unit
To celebrate the release of trukkloads of new Ork models, we decided to run this - any new Ork models can be entered, so sharpen your modelling knives and replenish your stock of Goblin Green.

"Perils Of The Warp" - Open Pskyer
A competition that we haven't seen before, Open Psyker should be mind-blowing; any model that can cast psychic abilities is eligible.

Anyway, choose the third competition now!

Here are your options
  • Dancing Contest
Hell yeah-, breakdancing Orks or Necrons doing the actions to 'Thriller', this contest is open to either a single model or a unit of up to five models getting their groove on in some obvious way, shape or form.

  • Maccragge Marines Contest
We've all got them lying around, these one-pose wonders are a step up from what we used to get in the 40k boxed sets (older players will know what I'm talking about) but they are still lacking somewhat. Stick on your conversion hat and make them look good! Single model entries only, so make it good!
  • Vintage Model
One for the veterans and the collectors out there, this one is open to a single model from times of yore - minimal conversions allowed, but it's mainly about seeing what a lick of paint can do a chronologically challenged figurine.
  • Signature/Avatar Combo Competition
Create a 40k-related avatar and signature combination that works well together to enter into this contest. Anything from a scan of a pencil drawing to a masterpiece in Photoshop is allowed, so make sure yours stands out in the crowd.

The winner of the CoD poll will be announced at the end of the month, shortly before the rules for all three February contests are put up - so keep an eye out for it!

Happy voting,

Hive Lord and the Competition Committee

Looking forward to see the result of this vote! I'd love to see a dancing contest, even though I probably won't enter in any of the voting-able.
I'll try to use the open psyker one as a reason to create my Daemon Prince though.

I'm quite excited for the Ork one. It sounds like it should be a ton of fun. I might just enter this one...

I picked Maccrage Marines. The other ones sound exciting, but it'd also be interested to see a competition with everyone using the exact same model.

Hmmm, Dancing Contest eh? Something about Vostroyans and cossack dancing speaks to me in a deep and meaningfull way.
