I liked the old layout really. It was simple and to the point.

If it ain't broken don't fix it - I think it was well done originally. Maybe a bit of a polish would be good, but I don't like the sound of a complete overhaul (as I suspect it would end up a bit too...how can I put it, enclavitish?). And why get rid of forums links? I think the newsletter should be tied very closely with the forum.

To second Rezzy, the important thing I feel is to make the new newsletter a proper publication, but one that can hae a funny side.

If it ends up as one massive jokefest I believe it will die.

The original design was a good'un, it just needs a small refresh.
