Default Buddy list.

I was looking at the buddy list feature, and i thought the name could be much more Tauish. "Buddy" doesn't really go with the grimdark 40k feel, or the clean and technological style of the Tau. One thing i thought we could do was to change the option "Add to Buddy List" into "Perform Ta'liserra" (sp?) to represent the bonding ceremony as a friendship?

I'm not really sure if this feature is widely used, but, i think it's the little things like this that will give our Forum an edge in the online 40k scene.

I'm not sure that renaming that feature to "Perform Tal'liserra" would be a good idea. New members (and even old ones) to the site would ponder what it's therefore and would create more confusion then it was worth IMHO.

I'm not saying that your idea is bad and I'm all for changing it to something more appropriate, but it must also make sense to those who weren't part of that discussion

Indeed. Perhaps we could hammer out a better suggestion?

Friends?
Comrades?
Co-commanders?

I have to admit, i have seen it before, but i have no clue as to it's purpose, or what it provides the "Bonded".

To the best of my knowledge based on experience, you can see your buddies in your profile and see their online status and IM accounts and so on, allowing for quicker access to them. Also, at the very bottom of the main forum page, next to 'Who's Online,' it shows the total number of registered users, guests, and buddies online as well as bolding their name in the following list of online members.

All in all, it's really just a tool for stalking and the buddy-ee doesn't even have to consent to it. It's kind of a strange and useless feature.

As for changing the name, that sounds unnecessary and it'll just create confusion.
