Default National Flags

I wondered how hard it would be to put the national flag, of where each member resides in, next to their username (or in another appropriate location)?

It would help to provide a little more context to discussions so people can help appropriately with product names, advice, or understand particular aspects of a posters post. In the SD&D board it has cropped up a few times where people mis-assume a posters nationality causing a bit of friction.

Cheers int:

Not sure where on the profile it could sit, but I like this idea.

Hmm, if spelled properly FT might be able to link the location in our profiles to something.

I like the idea, but is it necessary is all I'm wondering? The situation Dangerman puts forth is good, but in something like SD and D I'd expect the people to know ahead of time or look at the profile instead of just letting a situation escalate.

It need not be compulsory - it can be an optional field filled in on the profile page, with a box to tick for whether or not to display it. I like the idea - but only of us Aussies can have the Boxing Kangaroo.

It would save having to click into another link and opening another tab, it's more efficient. I have seen it on other forums and it helps. Unless someone is being tricky and sets their home country as Afghanistan or Dijibouti...

If you have a look at the "Some sad news..." thread in SD&D you can see where this would've saved a few angry posts and frustration. But that's not the only use as I stated before. Examples like telling someone to use Simple Green when they don't even have that product in their country, it can save a few hassles.

A nice idea but I believe this to be an exercise in Client Politics - limited costs and limited gains. Honestly, I don't see any application outside of SD&D, and that one instance does not justify it to me, at least.

I think it's a great idea, and considering how easy it'd be for those with custom titles to just do it anyway I can't see it posing too much of an issue for FT to get it to be an automatic thing.

Crikey! This crazy clown causes commotion like the coming of Christ. Contained in a circle corrupted by crackheads and carnal cravings, he creates no concession to callous cheaters concentrating on nought but cock. Certainly, still a curious and cordial cavalier in the countenance of crazed cads, curs and creeps who condemn courtesy as something corny. No cloud could collapse his crushing crescendo of comical crowing and crimson coiffure. This conjecture on culture comes circumlocutive, consequently...
