Default Karma suggestion

Right, I have an innerestin' proposal: when you get negative karma - or positive - the staff should PM you what you did to get it. At least for the negatives; then you can see what you need to change to make the forum a more pleasant place. Otherwise, one might just go on making the same mistakes and getting smuted, and be none the wiser. What do the denizens of TO have to say? And TO, too...

I personally try to ensure the smiteť always knows why they were smited, either in the thread, or by some other means. I do it for the very reasons you raised there: To ensure they know what they were doing, and try to ensure it doesn't happen again. Most other mods usually do the same in my experience.

Should be official policy IMO.

It sounds like a perfectly good and reasonable idea to me. I agree with Grey Death that it should become official policy.

Seriously, it's nothing really special, it's just an indicator you're doing it right ways. You make a good post: you get good karma. You make a bad post: you get bad karma. You need to work for it.

I know, I was just kidding. I do that a lot; maybe too much... oh well.

if you want karma you can do one of two things. You can either bribe the mods - or you can go out and earn it. The second option is much more satisfying....
