Default Tau Online introduction?

Follow this link:
http://www.eldaronline.com/teaser.html
For those of you who didn't guess (or couldn't wait for it to load! ) that was the Inroduction to EldarOnline.
I was wondering if there were any flash artists here that could do something similarfor Tau Online? Obviously it would be ultimately up to you TO.
Just a thought!
If one was made I think the Logo at the top right of the new SMF should link to it.

But the thing is that tau online, the gallery and the forums are all seperate so an intro would be strange. after all if u put it on the forums an u access TO through the website then an introduction part of the way through would be very strange.

U r a member of EO correct Restavyien? Cos everything is accessible through the main site whereas TO is not like that. So it would make more sense for EO whereas not for TO.

Yes but they are all part of the same site...fine then put the intro on the Homepage.
Yes I am, but I'm pretty sure you can access most of the things on TO from the homepage...

My point was that some people may jus go straight to the forums without goin through the main site so it would only benefit the minority

People don't like intros. They just want to see the site, not some flashy graphics.

That is partially true but if there was really good graphical stuff then people may think that the site looks more professional and that would attract more people to go on the site.

Although i still think it would not be suited to TO

To be honest, a good intro can enhance and then degrade the site. First time u see it, you can go wow, but then you visit the site again and you go, "seen it" and just press the skip intro button unless you add something like a bit of javascript that skips it if you already seen it.

How about melding those two ideas? Sorta like a fast loading flash thing for the top of the forum, site and gallery that includes the main TO logo and other stuff?

by an introduction, i take it you mean a splash page?

imo splash pages are good, you dont have to just link to the site, u can have it as a sortof portal, ie it links to forum AND site, and also some graphics are nice..

A portal might be cool, although as some have said, it can get annoying even if it's fast loading...I'm not sure about this...I'm not sure whether it'd be good or bad...although if we did include it, the forums and galleries would probably get more visits..
