Default Spamming.

I was wondering if there are any reprecusions for spamming as an aweful lot of posts seem to have nothing to do with thread which it is in and it does get really annoying when you are trying to put a point across, give/recieve information.

Im sure something as simple as derogatory titles(nothing personal just regarding spamming tendancies) would go a long way to stopping poeple creating hundreds of useless posts if they want to talk about something that doesnt involve the thread they could instant or personal message each other.

So, what you're suggesting is, we basically turn this board into a mini EO (Which is kind of is already, no offence), with titles for spammers?

Well, anyway, I agree, something needs to be done to discourage spammers, as there seems to be a fair few of them.

Thats why there are GMods and Mods. If you have any that we don't see, please report it to the GMods or the board mod to deal with and issue warnings, remove/edit posts.

But that doesnt really work when everyother post is spam or if its a mod doing it, if i reported every bit of spam i see it would take ages(and i couldnt anyway, it just feels inherantly wrong to grass on somebody directly, makes you feel kind of empty inside.. anyway).

Perhaps there is another way to deal without titles i just cant seem to think of any, any suggestions?

Another thing is the thread in vain, or do quite a few of you also get annoyed by spamming(because if you dont then there really isnt much point in this thread.

Regarding a 'how did you find this website thread':

'and that is what i meant.. what is wrong, and then how can we exploit it?' -

'Oh how devilish .
Simply evil.' -

'simply me... >'

A thread regarding scouts:

'And they have good weapons.'

'8 sniper rifles and a missel launcher are handy to take on wraithlords and the like
Carnifex: WRAAAAAARGH
rifle: THuup
Carnifex:WRAAAAAAAAAAARGH
7 more rifles: THuup
Carnifex: WRAAAAAAAAAARGH
missile launcher: FOOOSH
Carnifex:WRAAAARGH!
missle(imbeded in carnifex's chest);BOOOM!'

About the lion sword:

I do know some fallen became mercenaries.

In fiction(i think):

Why, thank you Wargamer my friend.

I see spamming as something that doesnt add to the thread or further it in anyway, or if going completely off topic without reason.

I see, so you probably see it a lot then.

I try to make sure that people don't go off topic anyways, but we don't tend to delete every useless post, it would take ages to go through evey one.

I'll pm you with an alternative.

This is what you could call an "In Character" post. Rather than saying "8 sniper rifles and a missile launcher are good", they added a bizarre little fiction piece. This isn't really "spam" per se, unless it gets totally out of hand.

I think topics are allowed some degree of "wobble". Sometimes the thread evolves into a completely different subject, without reverting to "spam".

Personally, I like the derogatory title idea. It makes the spammer stand out, and people will not want to earn one themselves (especially if it's insulting, like "IQ of a fish"). People who spam to earn such a title on purpose (because they think it's "cool") are treated more harshly.

No, that should be fine (as long as it isn't disruptive). We aren't going to become facists that zip-line through your bedroom window and gun you down if you spam, but if a topic becomes too un-focused and people begin spamming they will be warned, and if they continue to do so they will (presumably) be given a title (E.g. Kais - sorry to use you as an example Kais ;D).
However, it should rarely come to this, as Mods (and possibly other members) would warn the offender a few times first, and 'lost' topics will be either locked or deleted if they become too obscure.
