Wow. I truly feel as if I'm amongst giants!

Thanks for the nominations people. I very much appreciate it. And good luck to my fellow competitors.

Is there an award for "most brutally honest debater"? :P

Anyway, congrats Khanaris. To be honest, I don't think that result was ever really in doubt! :P

I think the votes were cast on reputation more than anything, to be blunt but honest. In my opinion all three of the nominees are uniquely talented: Khanaris is very insightful (etc.) but I don't believe he is the best debater.

This isn't meant to take away any recognition from his success, for he clearly is highly intelligent and if that much of a percentage consider him to be the best debater then perhaps it's me in the wrong - I'm just expressing my views.

You're perfectly entitled to your views, and if we're being analytical about this, just under 50% of the voters share your view that Khanaris isn't the best debater! :P

As far as I'm concerned however, I'm more than happy to concede defeat. Although having said that, it would be nice if Khanaris actually said something in SD&D that I disagreed with. So if you're reading this Khanaris, how about arguing that bestiality should be made compulsory, or that the problems in the Middle East should be settled once and for all with a few hundred thermonuclear explosions. Both of those I could happily disagree with.... :P

The awards have always been more of a popularity contest, however it doesn't need to be taken as the final say-so about who's who. In fact, I like to think that the contests are ambiguous enough to make everyone happy whatever the outcome ends up being (for example in my opinion for the "Best List builder" award I went with the most savage/hardcore tournament list builder. Others may have wanted to think in terms of single armies, fluff factor, etc.)

It's all in good fun in the end.

Congratulations all you debaters!
