Default Considering a 1500 pt Farsight list

Not too experienced in the game thus far, but I know i'll be facing marines. Lots of marines.

HQ Farsight(170)

7x xv8 bodyguards each with the following(Hard wired multi tracker, hard wired target lock, hard wired drone controller, missle pod, plasma rifle, 1 shield drone, 1 gun drone)(714)

1 Hammerhead with Ion Cannon, SMS, disruption pod and multi tracker(176)

3x xv88's(290)
1 Team lead upgrade, all three have twin linked plasma upgrade, multi trackers. Team lead has Hard wired drone controller with 2 shield drones

2x 6-man firewarrior teams, each with Shas'Ui and Bonding knife (150)

I've never personally used a farsight list, however lets look at a few things that could be changed.

I would drop the plasma upgrades from the broadsides, they should be shooting at tanks, maybe change their support system for an advanced stabilization system or a targeting array.

The hammerhead should have burst cannons rather than SMS, mainly due to more shots = more failed armor saves in this case.

If your opponents don't use heavy amounts of transports, then drop the missile pods from the bodyguard and put in fusion blasters.

By doing this you should have around 100 points left, you can add another hammerhead with ion cannon and you should do fine.

I'm only seeing a 25 pt gain, am i missing something?

Hammerhead regains 10 pts for burst cannons(+10)
bodyguards stay the same(+0)
Broadsides gain 30 for not having plasmas and lose 15 for upgrading to targetting array(+15)

also, another hammerhead with ion cannon and burst cannons is a minimum 115 if i'm reading codex correctly

a targeting array is less that, and with the multi trackers gone, you will of saved some points but no, not enough for another ionhead. However this will give you some more points for FW. With out a transport they are going to be cut down like wheat, so the more the merrier. Hopefully if you can squeeze a few more it will keep them from getting wiped as easy.

Another thing that bothers me is your lack of anti-tank. Yes you have 3 broadsides, but anyone will realize thats all you have, and once thier gone he can just mop up farsight and his samurai with AT fire. this also brings up something else. You have 800 that could easily be tired up in CC (which is one of the reasons i dont like farsight), granted theys should fair better due to farsight. However should they not win out right that first combat (or god forbid lose), then 90% of your fire power cant shoot next turn. If i were you i would give farsight some body gaurds, but at least run anther team of suits so all my people (hopefully) wont be tied up at the same time.

I'm sorry, what? Multi tracker is half the cost of targetting array in the armoury

will probably make the switch to fusions on the bodyguards so that may help

Valid point, could separate 3 guards to a separate unit and gain 100 pts, if i drop 1 shield drone from the 88's i have enough for another ionhead

Solid list, but the broadsides will die, so they need shield drones. Dropping the target locks and a gun drone from the regular crisis team is enough to add two shield drones to them, then you can add a target lock back on and be at 1499 I believe.

i agree on dropping the gun drones, besides wound allocation thier not going to be much use, as 90% of things out there will laugh off pinning. And as jurai said, the broad sides should hace shield drones, as you dont want those 250 points getting insta killed by some lascannons.
