Hi guys,

Can you C&C my list?

HQ - 102
Shas'el with Missle Pod + Cyclic Ion Blaster + Multi-tracker + HWDC + 2xGun Drone

Troops - 150
12xFW with Shas'ui + Bonding Knife + Markerlight

Troops - 150
12xFW with Shas'ui + Bonding Knife + Markerlight

Elite 1 - 46
Shas'ui with Fusion Blaster + Flamer + Multi-tracker

Elite 2 - 50
Shas'ui with Missle Pod + Burst Cannon + Multi-tracker

Ok, Problem number 1 with your list: STATIC.

That is the worse thing for tau now in 5th edition. With the new Run rule, you opponent can potential be on you on turn one (depending on the race) and most defenitively on turn 2. Tau must adopt a more mobile stance now.

Aside from that. Let me see. Well, your list seems to be anti-GEQ/Anti-horde, so i gues you don't play much Space Marine then.

So base on that assumption your HW and Elite 2 are pretty good. Your troops, I would at the very least give them a HW target lock to paint another team and maybe a HW muiltitracker too to shoot both the markerlight and pulse rifle. For the Elite 1, I'm not sure Fusion and flamer doesn't work well together. One is Antitank the other is a mop-up weapon. I would recommand either TL fusion or Fusion/missilep od combo for tank hunting.

With the amount of cover now I'm not convinced of using PR, I will see how my next game with SM will go and decide. I have to play static as I don't have any vehicles yet... :P

I don't know who I will be playing so FB/Flamer can be used as anti tank/anti mech in a small battle, with 500 points it’s hard to field horde and mech at the same time...

Would it be better to remove 2 gun drones from the commander and give the FW Shas'ui HWMT and HWTL?

If you go Static Keep the pulse rifle, you want to start taking shots at full range and soften them up before they get into CC. putting Pulse Carbine is a sure way of gettnig killed because you loose 12" worth of shooting at only get 1 shot at 12" or less instead of 2. and pinning isn't worth it...not against marine.

Then I would strongly recommand you get at least a devilfish or two soon and a skyray box (which gives you both the hammerhead and the skyray) to help with mobility.

True. But be careful with orks, 'Nid and Guard players, they can bring a lot of stuff in 500 points.

At the very least, I would give the FW shas'ui a HW target lock. The HW multitracker is optional.
