we entered a tournament with a team of 4 all combat patrol armies.

mine was
shas'el (crisis suit,TA, missile pod, plasma)(used to be allowed models with more than 2 wounds in patrol not any more though)
shas'ui(crisis suit, TA, Flamer, burst cannon)
sniper team
and the rest fire warriors.

can't remember the other 3 armies army lists but their armies were: blood angels, tzeentch and my freinds own chapter Chrome falcons.

I took the first tournament I entered, it was a 500-point with normal force-org.

HQ - Shas'El w/ Twin-Linked Missile Pods, Targeting Array (78)

Troops - 8 Fire Warriors (80)

Troops - 10 Kroot (70)

Fast Attack - Piranha w/ Fusion Blaster, Targeting Array (70)

Fast Attack - Piranha w/ Fusion Blaster, Targeting Array (70)

Heavy Support - Hammerhead w/ Ion Cannon, Burst Cannons, Multi-Tacker, Decoy Launchers (130)

Total of 498. I pulled out 3 wins, with 2 massacres and 1 Victorious Slaughter equivalent. No losses, no draws.

Just expect the Hammerhead to die early and often. Usually against all odds, like a single Genestealer rolling 3 sixes in a row to destroy it (yes, it happened), or an assault marine sergeant punching it with a powerfist (yes, again, it happened...). The Piranhas are there in case anyone gets stupid and brings a Land Raider (like I would). Luckily, at 500 points you don't have to worry about Necrons, just stay out of range and zap'em with the Ion Cannon and Fire Warriors. Infiltrate the Kroot and have them shoot the enemy as they advance, forcing the enemy to either just take the casualties or send a portion of their force after the Kroot (if you're in terrain you get to attack first if they charge you, so stick to terrain). The whole tournament took place in some bombed-out city, so even without forests the Kroot did well every game.

Have fun. I only posted because now I can finally say I won a tournament!

Dude, a gentle warning: This is as close to a case of Thread Necromancy as you can get...which is frown upon...especially since you post doesn't really contribute to the thread.

You might want to re-read your forum rules to avoid getting into trouble.

@Rabble

2 things:

1) This was post in 2005 and Raken haven't been on since 2007...so your post is unfortunately pointless.
2) If he was playing 3rd edition he was ok.
