Well, looks like a decent list. A couple things though...
1. Drop the FB from the Stealth team. FB's are 1 shot wonders, and with BS 3, there won't be many wonders... Your 3 Piranhas, Hammerheads and Fireknife Crisis suits should kill tanks just fine.2. I would try and drop a few points and strengthen up the FW squads. Mabye drop 1 crisis suit or the drone squadron? Anyways, looks like a solid list. Happy gaming. 8)

I know some of the numbers are wierd(i.e. fielding teams of 10 FW) but thats because I'm looking into starting with the megaforce.Just trying to figure it to where all the numbers add up.

First of all, this would belong to the "Army Lists"-subforum...

![]() Furthermore, I´m not a big fan of the CIB; it is just too random imo, but that`s entirely your call. Quote:
Personal Note: I highly dislike the PR/MP combo on anything with less than BS5, since the hits are just too random. For me, specialisation and accuracy are key, so I would suggest fielding two specialised teams - one with Targeting Array and TL MP, the other with either PR/FB or TL PR/TA. Two specialised suits are cheaper than two Fireknives, and excel at their roles, but that`s just me. Besides, my first army had 3 Fireknives in it, as well, so if you want, go for it. Quote:
If you`re fielding only one unit of Stealths, you might want to split your Fireknives into two smaller teams... this way, you don`t put all your eggs in one basket (or you make two specialised Crisis teams - though this is a variation of "putting all your eggs in one basket", only at a higher level ).Quote:

![]() With a Hammerhead, you also want to pack a Target Lock, which lets you engage different targets - a necessity if you have one main anti tank weapon, and two anti-infantry weapons. Quote:
My only real problem with this list is its format (This is a great Frame for army lists; courtesy of Olannon (haven`t seem him around for a while...)) ;D, apart from that, it`s a nice start for a Static/Hybrid list. The only final advice I`d like to give you is that you should find a style that suits you. IMO, you have too few mobile elements to go Mech, and too few Broadsides to play "proper" Static or Hybrid. Don`t make the mistake to believe that Firewarriors can actually win a game for you; sure, their range looks great, but Heavy Bolters are longer-ranged; as are Destroyers and every single Heavy weapon out there (apart from the Multi-Melta, granted ) - and they are utterly useless against tanks (even against Rhinos they have problems). Like everything in the Tau army, Firewarriors are highly specialised - in this case, against Light to Medium Infantry. You NEED the special weapons the HQ and Elite slots offer to you, and you should pack enough of them (my 1.500 points armies are run by 5-8 Crisis Suits (including HQ), and 2 Broadsides). I sincerely hope that this was helpful; if you have any other questions, feel free to ask around - we`re here to help (apart from LGT, who is an Anti-Wargamer-debating machine. And apart from Wargamer, who is our fluff-and houserulemonkey. Aaaand apart from Songblade, who will slap you silly if you lack "propa punktuashunn" ).Cheers, -Bone |
